Level 50 Class Gear

Just a quick bit of curiosity. Is there any particular reason the gear you are rewarded through level 45 class quests, which is level 50 gear, can't be stored in the Armoire? It's gear you can't use when you get it (unless you've seriously put off your class quests), and to make it worse, the level 45 gear you get at the same time can be put in the armoire.

So why the discrepancy? One would think we should be allowed to store the level 50 gear, if for nothing else than to save some inventory space before we actually get to level 50. Maybe a bug nobody bothered to report?

The lvl 45 gear is the story Artifact gear. The other set is merely old tomestone-purchased gear added to allow accelerated gear check access, several patches after it ceased to be purchased with tomes.

I'm not sure what you are talking about - Artifact Armour (AF) can be stored in the Armorie... unless you're referring to the old 'myth' armour (that was nicknamed 'AF2') which is was added to the class quests upon Heavensward's launch, in which case therein lies the reason.

As Du mentioned, that specific gear was originally gained at the start of ARR's service not through that quest, but by running endgame content to collect 'tomes of mythology' which the player would then redeem for the armour with a vendor in Revenant's Toll. It was then changed later on to be only attained through finding 'ancient' items in dungeons and redeeming those items with another vendor, as tomes of mythology were completely removed from the game. And upon Heavensward's release, it was added instead to the Job quests to help speed up the levelling process to get a new player geared up better.

Because it was originally tome gear, that means it's not storeable in the armorie sadly (armorie-storable gear is usually either specifically quested or special event items only I'm afraid, although that list is increasing).

Yah, clueless on the terminology and all on these things. But yeah, ok. So there's some semblance of logic to it. Maybe hopefully someday soon they'll tweak that setting so this AF2 gear can be stashed. I totally get that you can't use armoire for gear that you can collect again or otherwise obtain. But seems like this gear has changed away from that. Maybe we're just stuck just in case there's someone out there stockpiling it for whatever reason.

It can be re-collected, no worries there! You can get gear-tokens from several level 50 dungeons and exchange them for the gear ("AF2") you'd like to have in Mor Dhona
