The first person who leaves a dungeon while the party is still full gets a penalty where they can't use the duty finder for 30 minutes.
Any subsequent people who leave afterwards have no penalty, unless the slot is filled back up first iirc.

THe real kicker are people demanding to be vote kicked so they don't incur that penalty...

I've gone on at least 500 dungeons/raids/trials so far, and let me tell you that only just a FEW of those since the release of the mentorship program have ever helped. It's really sad. I would say that the last 150-200 are within the release of the mentorship program, so let that think in. I find it really sad that people just want a crown next to their name, when the purpose is supposed to be nurturing to our community.Its a welcoming sign that says "HEY IM EXPERIENCED, I CAN HELP YOU." However people twist it into greed, and It ends up representing how entitled people feel in my generation, but know one thing;

If people are so low to feel that they need a crown to feel important, or special, they aren't really that important. They are a troubled person who doesn't have their life together. Not trying to insult those people, but they really need to wake up. It doesn't matter what your ilevel is, what your glamour is, what event items you have, what minions you have, titles you have, or how much you spent on the mog station. You're just another player, and people are going to look at you as just that. I'm not going to point names, but the Jenova server really struggles because of the opposite kind of thinking. I ended up leaving for Balmung. FFXIV's NA community has got to get its act together. I'm fine with a few bad apples, but now its just getting out of hand. There have been a few days where I questioned if I wanted to keep playing the game. With new come popularity for FFXIV comes a lot of baggage. If everyone wants to play, you get ALL kinds of people.

I'm even questioning if FFXIV for Xbox One is even a good thing. Part of me wants everyone to get the chance to play, even though I don't like XBOX, the other part makes me scared that whiny xbox kids are going to get into the game. I hate to say it, but the people on that system can really get on my nerves. Our game needs some serious help with the community aspect. I honestly just don't know what we should do.
I like the idea I saw in another thread...

The mentor icon should have been a watering can to go with the sprout icons that new players have.

I find a better idea than letting them die is just standing still. You decide the pace too. Whenever I tank I get hesitant to move forward if the healer is MIA . though in low level dungeons I decide my pace on your gear. If you're wearing low lvl stuff then I go slower unless you prove we can go faster. Id rather not die than save 2 minutes of running

An entire thread because your tank ran off at the start without something as trivial as Protect or Stoneskin? Next time just follow him and cast it when he sits still again. Or just say fuck it and not bother because the mitigation is pretty marginal anyway. I mean, would Protect and Stoneskin be nice to have? Sure, I guess. Mitigation is mitigation. But they're by no means necessary and their absence will never be the reason why you wiped so this all sounds like needless nitpicking to me.

Poor tanks, standing there for probably 10 seconds as they slowly die lol...seriously...you'd rather let him die because you couldn't practice pushing 2 pre-pull buttons...do you DPS? Is it like...really hard for you to juggle a total of 8 buttons in a pull? You should make a priorities list and maybe gauge your capability. Cause for dungeons that literally require the use of your first two cures infrequently to top a tank off is blowing your skill hole wide open, what are you going to do at 60? Glamour? This pet class your "training" sounds like a trophy piece to me and is an insult to people who enjoy efficiency.

I love mass pulls. It's a great opportunity to actually train healing classes since when the dungeon from leveling roulette is slow, unless it's Aurum Vale or Stone Vigil I'll be almost sleeping most of the time. Imo you could stop letting the fact that you cannot put protect ruin your experience and enjoy the action of a fast run full of mass pulling. If the group wipe, it's a great opportunity to try again and everyone see their mistakes.

I can see it now in a savage group near you.

    *raid wipe*

Tank: What happened to protect and stoneskin for that tank buster.

Healer: Everyone told me that they were pretty marginal and not worth casting when leveling up. So lrn2tnk plzkthx.

People keep complaining that people don't know how to play their jobs in high level content. How can they when they're not building the proper good habits while leveling up?

You're calling for an experience that doesn't happen as a comparison. No raid tank (In their raid) will just jump down the Alexander slide and pull the boss. There's going to be a bit of standing around, and then the tank will hit a 15-20 second pull macro.

Also, the difference between your tank dying in one shot or not to putting a regen on the tank and not needing to heal again for the next 30 seconds is astounding. You're just trying to poke holes for silly reasons.

I'm going to share a little anecdote with you, whether I was in the wrong or not, you can decide. I feel no regret about what I did and would do it again without the slightest moment of hesitation.

While leveling a healer in another MMO (WoW) I had a tank that was taking 4-5 minutes between pulls. After the fourth time I said "hey tank, I'm ok on mana, you can pull a little faster." To which his response was "shut up and heal me, don't tell me how to play my class" and then proceeded to berate me with quite a bit of profanity for about thirty seconds before pulling again. At that point, I let him die and healed the dps through the enemies until they killed them. After that I said to the tank "don't piss off the person that decides whether you live or die, I'm not rezzing you, you can walk back and think about your attitude." He didn't answer me, he just left the party and we just kept clearing until we got another tank with a much better attitude that was pulling at a decent pace.

If someone acts like that towards me then yes, I will let them die, especially when I'm playing a healer.
that's not the case with OP though is it.
PS: regardless who was in the fault in your case, ego trip much?

and you still basically said "do what I say or die" xD
