Just an FYI, letting your tank die because he didn't wait for you to cast Stoneskin is behavior you can be punished for. You are in the wrong here if you do this.

All this drama because you can't swiftcast protect. Seriously?

I swiftcast stoneskin, can't do both at the spawn point. What amazes me is that there are people here who defend the tank running off without buffs. Why is that and why is it so important for the tank to leave so fast, it's only a matter of a few seconds. These are the same types who don't wait for everyone before puling a boss in duties like Void and so on.

I know right? The very first thing that's going to happen in every single duty when the wall comes down is healer casting protect. Everyone should be expecting it and wait the few seconds for it. No one needs to bolt the very second the wall drops, 10 seconds isn't going to hurt anyone. Say hi.

Sure that is the polite thing to do, but having expectations of random people on a video game can become very frustrating. To take it one step further and let the tank die due to pettiness makes you the bad guy though. If the tank is rude and runs off just buff him later in combat or don't bother. Not like you have to spam heals in this game, especially in low level dungeons. The point here is that letting something as small is this get to you is quite ridiculous.I know right? If the tank doesn't feel need for buff, than don't worry about it.I swiftcast stoneskin, can't do both at the spawn point. In my experience the best place for learning is in a consistent group of players e.g linkshell/free company where players get to know each other and have a some social currency between one another. I'm not sure if my free company is a particularly good example in it's current state but since 2.0/2.1 when i left and now i haven't seen or felt much incentive of any kind for members to help one another to catch up.

So many people in this thread complaining about tanks going too fast for their healer buffs and meanwhile as a white mage if a tank is pulling too slow i'll pull more mobs myself, and if they throw a fit and don't want to tank it i'll tank it myself or heal the DPS who is too.
Protect should just be up from the start of the dungeon, and 99 times out of 100 you can sprint and the tank will not, stoneskin takes less than 3 seconds to cast and as a scholar you shouldn't even have stoneskin cross classed you have adloquium. The only way I can imagine a healer not being able to keep up with their tank is if they're playing with a controller and one hand tied behind their back.

The "let them die" for me usually comes in when someone is being deliberately stupid, or flat out ignoring mechanics, only to be ressed and do it yet again. No point in wasting a good amount of my mana to res someone that will just die a moment later. But in any other case, I do what I can to keep up with the team. It's not just the healer that has to keep up with the pace, but the damagers, and even the tank him/herself as well, to meet the demands that the current sized mob requires to be met. If people die to overpulling, that alone should be enough to make the team aware that they may have hit their limit a little too quickly, and would then choose to wisen up by decreasing the rate of the pulls and such. It's not often I ever see a tank suffer a complete mental break down and start harassing either the healer or damagers due to an unfortunate wipe, though it is amusing when it does happen.
