    Dumb Battle Voice question.

Do song effects "snapshot" like other effects? Do I need to pop Battle Voice BEFORE I put up the song or will it work while the song is up?

Yes I have Bard at level 60 and I play it often. Yes I just now asked this. Stop. I see you glaring at me. Here, let me sing you a ballad. Wait, I still don't know when to put up Battle Voice. Uh... cookies? OKAY I'M A TOTAL BARD SCRUB.

You can play BV during any song to increase it's effect. The increase wears off when BV wears off.

Use Battle Voice after the Song is cast, not before, else you waste precious time of your buff while casting the Song. You can see a battle voiced song as the icon appears darker I believe? (Or was that just to denote who the singer was...)

I think singer just had the regular icon and everyone getting the buff will have a small + sign over it somewhere. And then there just will be battle voice icon for the bard who used it.

And the songs as far as I know are effected by BV only when you have the buff is active and a song is active at the same time. Be it after/before casting the song

The singer gets a buff as soon as his cast finishes, but everyone else doesn't get the effect until the tick. Battle Voice lasts 30 seconds, or 10 ticks. In the time it takes to sing a song after activating Battle Voice, 0 or 1 ticks might pass, and then the song will take 0 or 1 ticks before it affects everyone else. So if you Battle Voice -> Song, you'll lose between 0 and 2 ticks of boost. So you could get only 8/10 or 9/10 of your Battle Voice, less if something goes wrong. If you Song -> Battle Voice, the boost will affect the next tick of your song and be active for all ten ticks.

You can also do a few attacks before using Battlevoice while a song is active, no need to BV as soon as you sing a song

Going to double up on the dumb questions with a question about AoE.

To what extent should I abuse Rain of Death procs over (or with) Quick Nock (Knock? Spellcheck's yelling at me but this still looks weird) spam? I usually hit one enemy with Straight Shot and dots before AoE spam and sometimes RNG isn't happy with me and I get zero RoD resets before the dots fall off and/or I have to refresh them.

I find Quick Nock should really only be used under certain circumstances, one being not having Rain of Death. Basically what I do is DoT every enemy you are fighting, more DoTs more procs, and use RoD once its up. And use Iron Jaws to refresh the DoTs, if you can, with a lot of enemies the DoTs might fall off. I find this method saves me on TP, since using 2 smaller TP abilities over one larger TP ability allows for a server tic in between. Only if all enemies are DoTed, and Iron Jaws isnt needed, do I feel Quick Nock can be used, and then its based on your distance, otherwise you might use Wide Volley instead.

My AOE rotation, for 4,5+ mobs (4 if I'm lazy since you really should apply DOTS for 4 mobs)
SS, RoD, spam Quick Nock then ROD. If you are NOT lazy like me (you shouldn't be lazy!! it is bad) then apply your dots to one or two enemies and keep that up so RoD has the chance to proc.
Don't feel bad to move in to hit with QN, you need to be sort of close. Wide Volley is only really good if you are 1. too far and are moving in, and 2. if the mob is so big it won't be hit by QN. Be aware that the QN radius is bigger than most people think but remember it's a cone shape!

For 4- mobs, I apply all dots to all of them and cycle through, hitting RoD when it procs. Keep the dots up with Iron Jaws. Spam single target on the one going down the quickest.
