    Dear FFXIV team, error unable to complete version check getting out of hand.

    I am going to level with everyone here, this is error has been the bane of my FFXIV experience since 3.1 and I have been playing continuously for about 2 years.

    I would like a direct response on how to handle it and what is causing it. Every single patch/hotfix since 3.1 has given me this error without exception. If there is something I can do to prevent this 100% of the time, please tell me.

    I have tried everything: Restarting, shutting down and restarting, changing DNS, opening ports, resetting router, contacting my provider. No change whatsoever.

    I will ask it plain to the team that handles the patcher and server connections: Why is this happening? I am on a PlayStation 4, I can't just delete and reinstall the thing since it would take over a day of continuous download due to my less than stellar internet speed.

    It would be fine if it were once or twice, but every single patch/hotfix since 3.1 has given me this issue and I think its time I got some direct answers.

    Sorry to hear you're having issue, but I'm afraid Square Enix don't directly reply to support issues in this forum (it's more for players to help other players), but what you wrote suggests that somehow it is getting fixed/and you are able to play (until the next patch where it breaks again and you have to repeat).

    Can you give more details about how it starts to work again? This information is probably helpful to anyone who knows more about the PS4 version in finding a permanent fix (sorry I play on PC so not sure I can help much myself)

    Try to connect your ps4 with your Handy Hotspot WLAN connection.This helped me to update the Client Version.
