It's worth remembering that the eradication of the Primals isn't actually the end goal of Garlemald - it's a means to a totally different end, that being further expansion and conquest. When there are no more Primals in Eorzea, you can bet you 1.0 Miquo'te butts that Garlemald will turn their military might back in our direction, a military might well known to anybody who was around for Silvertear (and I'm sure the leaders aren't exactly blind about what happened when Ala Mhigo was occupied). Yeah, Gaius' offer was very generous, but his sincerity is a hell of a gamble to take, and he's gone now anyways. It actually kind of makes you wonder how much about the Garlean anti-Primal goals the leaders know; surely somebody, on the syndicate or wherever, would have suggested keeping the Primals around just to keep the Garleans at bay if it was widely known? *puts on darksteel foil hat*

But how does that tie back up into 3.4? Who knows! I think how little we actually have to go on is why we keep going off on tangents, here. What I'm most curious to see is how the Warring Triad story goes this time; since we'll be moving towards the next expansion in earnest, I imagine things are really going to start to converge (although I don't see any real intersection happening before 3.5, honestly).

Lastly: I'll outright apologize, Theo. I'm sorry if anything I said came off as a personal attack of any kind; it wasn't meant to, and nothing you said implied Nazi sympathies or Holocaust apologism or whatever ridiculous things you got accused of.
