For whatever happens with him, I'm hoping our characters don't forgive him so easily (if at all, preferably).

I won't forgive him! He betrayed us, then dismembered my General, and then goaded him into a fight for shits and giggles!
... but that said I don't see him rising to the status of "prominent villain" at the moment. Personal offense aside he's always been pretty small potatoes, so unless someone helps him rise to prominence I'm not too concerned about Ilberd.

I agree, I have as much chance of forgiving him for attempting to Kill Nanamo and run the Sciosn than I have for Livia for killing Noraxia and kidnapping the Scions (Hint: Its a low as the chances of Allag not being responsible for horrible disasters and being the poster child for Final Fantasy False Utopias)
My character regrets letting him escape Halitali; headcannon is he did worse to her than the story explicitly says. He's basically on "kill on sight" status for her now, unless she absolutely cannot draw her axe on him for whatever reason (or, someone saves him from certain death)
