    Fighting rares sounds fun. I've done it before and enjoyed it between other content. However a lot of people make it sound like the be all end all content that everyone would love to grind forever. It's not. WoW had rare monsters roaming the world map and people just sought them out, killed them one by one for loot and looked up guides for the hard ones. Once they had the loot they wanted it was dead content for those people. Do you have any suggestions how to keep battle content "relevant" once the loot has been obtained? Bear in mind it can't take too long to get the loot or else people complain it's too much effort (see relic). It also can't be cosmetic items and pricey items because then people don't deem it worthwhile to chase (see how the very recend addition of Aquapolis has been repeatedly and systematically ignored as content in this thread).

    I'm sure nobody would complain with the relic taking a long time to obtain if it lasted you for at least one year or two(well, even 6 months could be good) instead of 1 month before being replaced by a token weapon

    And I've only played an hour of WoW before going back to this game because I hated it, I wouldn't know what World of Warcraft has, sounds similar to Final Fantasy XI's notorious monsters that roam different zones and I love Aquapolis, it's been a new experience everytime I go in there, it's probably my favorite content from 3.3 and Deep Dungeon looks like it's going to be great too, more battle content lifted from Final Fantasy tactics, I love the fanservice in this game, anyways, but yeah Aquapolis is really good, I've not mentioned it in this thread until now because I think it's perfect and doesn't need changing I highly suggest other people try it out too.

    Can't say I'm a fan of reddit, everytime I'm linked there it looks like it's just fluff junk and the upvote system just makes me think it's more hiveminded than this place but...It's looking like an option these days believe me, before you know it I may have an account there. Ironically I thought people came here for the serious discussion. Now I know why people in my LS say "the OF is at it again!"

    There is a big problem with relic lasting longer. Based on what was said about the relic and a4s I am lead to believe that the relic progression/longevity is directly tied to the staying power of raid rewards.

    Since raiding gear has very little lasting power in this game, so must all the other types of content rewards. Until rewards last longer in general, the relic is probably fated to be a marginal bone of a weapon thrown to more casual players so they feel like they have a sense of progression. It will always just be a token weapon away from being pointless.

    I would. I honestly hate how grindy the relic is now and prefer to get the token weapons instead. If relic was so irreplaceable, I'd feel even more pressure to work on the relic and the grind would be even longer? Hate the idea already.

    Yeah sorry OP, I don't feel this way at all.

    I don't do dailies, except for heavensward beast tribes occassionally. I craft for people, gather, play the marketboard game, socialize, run an instance if I feel like it or join EX primal farm parties. I also raid savage two nights a week and that's always fun for me. It helps that I don't need lore for anything since every class I play is already good enough for all the content in the game sans A7s/A8s, though I usually end up capping lore anyway completely by accident lol.

    I just do whatever seems fun at the time and enjoy myself. Sorry you aren't having fun.

    Also on the relic discussion-they do typically last 6 months. The faster you get them done, the more use you get out of it.

    Not to mention if you play a scholar, you're basically required to do relic, because every other weapon released in heavensward except ravana's weapon and midas 4 savage's are garbage.

    You're absolutely right and I just turned off auto renewal. There comes a point when problems just keep going unaddressed and unanswered. It feels like this dev team is hell bent on repeating the same old boring formula for end game progression and I think there are better end games to be had in other MMO's.

    Thank you for such a good point, I think it was a bit of an eye opener for me. Why play a game where the questions and concerns address are more about glamour and inventory space rather than end game content and character progression.

    This game slipped into boring stagnation mode and everything in the game feels like a cheap band-aid fix.

    If you community reps are reading this, how about doing a developer blog on the state of the endgame and acknowledge our concerns of the end game rather than another blog on deep dungeons, content that has been previewed in how many live letters/events now? You guys waste time on cheap frills. We already get what deep dungeons are about, without the pointless dev blog. How about talk about information that needs discussing rather than some linear dungeon crawl with all the same monster we have already seen before. You don't need to tease the tacky glowing weapons, we can all imagine what a lvl 30 job weapon glowing looks like. Give us actual information on subjects we have been debating on for months rather than more this silly fluff content preview.
    Its nice to see the wool has been lifted from someone elses eyes.

    So, lets keep all rewards underwhelming so people are not compelled to strive for such rewards? Sorry, but that seems like a terrible point to make. You should feel the pinch if you pass up on doing the equivalent of a legendary weapon. This whole idea that content should be less important or enticing so you are not compelled to do it creates a self defeating facet to every new patch. Why bother with x, y, or z reward when the gear is underwhelming and can be replaced in a matter of 2-3 months?

    That attitude is one of the biggest problems with this game.

    There is really no reason everyone should be entitled to have the best weapon/gear in the game so we can all be equal,relic wouldn't be irreplaceable because not everyone would have it and you can still farm your token to obtain a pretty good weapon but not the best one which if you want you have to work harder. Everything should be proportionate at the effort you put in to obtain it, right now the relic isn't, same can be said for raid (savage) gear.
    Right now everyone is just a copy of the player next to him because there is no variety at all and the gear is so easy to obtain that there is really no sense of exclusiveness if everyone is equal, it really kills the purpose of having strong gear because there is really no strong gear but just a standard where everyone needs to adapt, that's why everyone only cares about raising their item level and not about what interesting piece they are wearing.
