I would bet money that raids, as we know them from 2.xx, will no longer be a thing sometime in 4.xx

I wonder how many times I said this game would turn into a AAA lotro.

Oh ya I've seen plenty of people say they feel the game is going in that direction. I agree. I played Lotro also and am getting a similar vibe..lol

After having 0 hype for 4.0 due to all the um..unfulfilled promises from 3.0 , can't say I really care. When 4.0 is released I will read the patch notes and decide if I am playing then :x

First off, Iromi, I could go back and actually quote your old posts, but I don't really feel like it. In this thread alone you've explained how you've done everything in this game. All while attending college full time and working full time along side a boyfriend who allegedly has the same responsibilities as you. Let's be clear here, there's no need to lie about your out of game activitites.. just be honest. you have played A LOT of FFXIV and have done it all, and that's fine. There's no need to make it sound like the game is SO EASY that ANYONE with a few hours and some determination can complete everything. They can't. So, yea.

Actually I know this person... and you really shouldnt go assuming things you clearly dont understand, the fact of the matter is what Iromi says is true and ill back it 150%. Just because you dont know how to balance your priorities doesnt mean this game is perfect as is, I like the game but it has a lot of work that is needed

Tanka was one of the founders/been there since day one as a young adult. Think sometime after the first 2 FF's he was the director for FF3.

Be nice if he joined Mistwalker & they actually got around to making a game good as FF. Lost Odd is nice but I hate xbox XD.

Going off topic a bit, Lost Odyssey was lovely, same goes for the Last Story. We starting to see Sakaguchi around Square-Enix though, finally. That's thanks to Bravely Default (with Akihiko Yoshida as designer, same 1.0 had) which sold -a lot-, showing SE the right way to keep.
I am Setsuna is just the beginning, with XV -gone- already all the hype goes on XVI and I really hope Ito (aka FF9/FF12 director with Matsuno) will lead the game.

I really hope those new vibes will reach FFXIV and/or the next FF online game.

I feel like the real problem with 3.0 is that they hyped it up too much. "We want players to feel like it's a whole new game." However, that choice of words didn't reflect what we got. We got a slightly better version of 2.0. What SE has a problem with right now is execution. They have lofty goals of what the game "should be", but they've stopped factoring how players really are, and that's killed the game this expansion. Maybe 4.0 will be better, maybe it won't. In either event, I believe many people have your attitude. "I'll wait and see what they do, and if I don't like it I'm gone." That is the right attitude to have, but maybe we, as a community, are setting the game up for a big failure if the developers can't get their execution right out of the gate for this one.

Yup, basically! They hyped it up too much and went way over the top..so when it came out it just didn't add up. That is the exact approach I am taking, maybe it will be good maybe not, and yeap...as of right now I am pretty uninterested in the direction the game is going so what more can I say If they hear us they hear us..if not then so be it!

Yeap, suggesting people to unsub is a great idea *sarcasm* haha. Eventually we will have no one left lol. Cuz as I said earlier..people unsub and they dont come back :x Once the influx of new people runs out (and it will) then we will see...I've already seen a steady decline in subs from the lucky bancho thing on reddit, not saying omagad gaem dying!!! But..last time he took it there a 100k drop, and even more so massive drop in who completed the story. Only 300k people completed the 3.2 story (I think that was last time he took it)

I'm offered enough challenge to keep myself interested (Nidhogg, Mcach), and enough busy work to enjoy myself until the next 3.x.

Sorry to say but if you consider Mhach and Nidhogg challenging content you're not a raider, therefor you're missing the point of this thread and shouldn't be calling yourself hardcore either.

This game, from what I can tell, was never meant to be your FFXI. It's not meant to be your WoW, It's certainly not meant to be your EQ. it's FFXIV:ARR, and it's trying to fit it's own niche.

It was never meant to be XI, but seems to me a copy paste of the WoW formula, do you see where WoW went? It's where this game is going because they are following the same formula, WoW worked back then because it was Unique, not the first MMO but did so many things well that if it was today and considering how many more people have internet these days it could have double the subs, FFXIV is trying to be the new WoW but they didn't understand yet that WoW isn't WoW anymore, but a shadow of a once amazing game from what i've seen.

I've predicted Aion and TERA future and people laughed at me on the forums, a few months later they went F2P, while i don't see this game going F2P, not because it won't get into such state, because it can, but because i'd see Square preferring to shut it down than turning it into F2P, even XI is still sub based and how many players does it have? There's a good example why this game won't go F2P, but no way it'll be in good shoes either.

Actually, I've completed 3.2 story two days before 3.3. I don't really like reading those walls of text, and I had all 3.2 dungeons\trials unlocked without doing all 3.2 story to the end. Had to do it before 3.3 of course to not have my static wait for me for nidhogg.

These days a lot more people have Internet, no point comparing numbers between XI and XIV when taking that into account.
