It isn't just about reward the gear is bland, spirit bonding was way more worth it with the materia they had back in 1.0. Thing is I can do the challenge part one time and say well beat it what make people go back in and repeat it over and over you guess it the reward for doing it.

This did seem strange to me as well. Even for the first Relic in Realm Reborn, Materia and Spirit Bonding were critical to reaching the quests' end point. It was something they seemed to want to make use of it to its fullest. It may be for the same reason that we're lacking in that regard as well during our time with Heavensward. We may just need something new, something more original to FF14, rather than a unit to the FF franchise that has been abused like a.... well... damn. I can't say anything too dirty on the forums can I? Well, just use your imagination. :|
