    I played the game for a while as well.. I stopped before they added iLvl and 99 cap in the game, which I think ruined it all. Well I'm sure someone will disagree which is completely fine.

    As for people saying this game had alot of changes(content changes). Please give me content that is purely different than any content in this game and I talk about a completely overhaul how mechanics works and how battle arena is designed etc. Before you say diadem, sure but was it even successful? not really. I do like they did try however.

    I think diadem could be better if they added more widespread focus on incentive, perhaps a generous amount of poetics, eso - maybe have its own type of maps that are diadem-specific(skypirate maps) which could offer a way to either force spawn the star ranks instead of just killing tier 4's till the big labowski spawns and zerg it down, another problem when it was getting popular was getting credit for them if you had the unfortunate run with several other groups that were in it, maybe the maps could offer umbrite, and unidenified items as well as a good amount of poetics and esoterics?

    Diadem doesn't even give a new battle system, it's uses the exact same one except the tedium is cranked up to 11 because you initially stayed in the instance for 2 whole hours and mobs/NMs were punching bags that took anywhere from 2 minutes to 5 minutes to kill. No exciting mechanics, all it boils down to is dodging aoe and keeping people topped off for meteor. Infact some ongoing issues show up when it comes to Diadem due to the sheer amount of players; the debuff limit. It's incredibly infuriating a s a MCH that my wildfire gets a "has no effect!" because of the limit, and I imagine it's even worse when SMNs don't even get their DoTs off.

    Again, I won't fault them for trying new things, but honestly I feel like this is nothing but a short-sighted implementation without planning. How are you going to pass off something as an exploration when the best method (which didn't even take days to discover, mind you) was mindless grinding of mobs that have no out-of-the-ordinary abilities, no exclusive items hidden in caves (which is a no-fly zone, mind you, so the concept is literally right there!), and nothing to encourage exploration because everything is in a static placement (except fo law andr esos, which if you are staying for the whole 2 hour duration, is incredibly inefficient. You have the feast being released the way it is without any adjustments or planning in the ranking system to prevent headaches and win trades (which was already present before the feast was implemented)

    There was already enough of an incentive on release; it was the only way to obtain certain crafting materials (which, unfortunately was limited only to glamour purposes) and dropping items that were potentially better than the hardest raid at the time. The problem is not fun. If it's not fun, people will stop the moment they get what they need or even not be bothered to do it (me).

    Company Airship crafting and exploration was released in 3.1, and this was supposed to be one of the flagship content they had planned and promoted for 3.x (as in, it was one of their primary points with their expansion, alongside the new jobs, increase to level 60 cap, FC workshops), and we haven;t seen an update to it until 3.4 at the earliest as of now, and up to no we still don't really do much with our airship as far as interaction is concerned.

    Lol that was pretty much what they were getting at. Calling out people for saying Diadem is exciting and fresh. That 3.1 trailer for it tho...what could have been. Comfy adventures.

    Oh I agree I was there and let down, remember the airship exploratory missions came well before diadem did, and still not able to fly in a group around on the airship, even at the least in the area, I too was a bit let down by it, and the gear was pretty great, but then it was too good apparently since it made raiding slightly pointless, The fun factor, youre definately right. Gathering parties are slightly more entertaining but again the nodes drop only 4 or 5 items, half of which can be mined with less danger in the hinterlands tbh.

    Question is, how exactly does one make Diadem more engaging? Only thing I can think of is putting specific goals to take on in there for extra currency to buy things like tier 5 materia, orchestrion rolls, mounts/minions. It is hard to balance obtaining gear in there. Last time 210 dropped like candy and people getting ilvl210 gear with good stats was actually not uncommon. Diadem looks so much like a mess to me that I don't even know how you can completely fix it.

    Diadem looked good on paper. Was executed poorly and only amounted to trash mob farms and Srank hunt like monsters.

    Not to mention gatherers needed bodyguards to get anything done.

    Such a joke. Only went in there 5 times.

    And exploration? Bold faced lie.

    Less a bout the gear and more about the content in general. You have no synergy or cooperation between combat/gathering classes because the nodes are never really in a state of danger. The no-fly zones are underutilized and can be a perfect example of the aforementioned synergy where you'd escort the gatherers and protect them as they gather the rare/exclusive materials. Add some of hte FATEs they love so much through the form of gathering items or procuring monster drops, and completing the objective unlocks new points or exploration areas by building a bridge or clearing rubble. Diadem treasure maps to draw out monsters or find treasures. All of this is just from me brainstorming for 3 minutes, alongside with the impressions I got from their trailer of all things. I'm astonished that more than half of what I brainstormed isn't the case.

    Right and my thoughts were similar on how to make it better. Usually when I think of content like this, I think about the lasting appeal. Things are usually fun at first, but usually starts becoming a chore to a lot. I always like to think of what will entice people to keep jumping back in even if it feels like a chore. Something like gear is enticing, but will the developers take time to make a dedicated set? Or try the random stats gear again? Where would it be placed? Yoshi-P said he regrets making the gear 210 as it caused an unbalance with tomestone/raid gear. I am interested to see in what they come up with.
