    Generally, I don't everything from XI into this game but I do want some ideas from it to be implemented into the game. Like for example, what they could do with BLM is change Tranpose (or add a new ability) to the DoT instead of Thunder and now Thunder does DMG. Add the same proc effect to Thunder. Take Blizzard's MP regen and add it to Transpose. For WHM, they could get rid of Cleric Stance and change it into a DoT. Idk why we need Cleric Stance to do DMG. I always disliked that idea. Elemental Weakness could be added into this game in the form of a 2 element weakness system. One element of BLM and one Element of WHM. Some can be weak to magic in general. The Dev Team doesn't like doing anything that requires a change in the battle system. That's my biggest problem with the team. If it isn't simple to implement, they won't do it.

    Now here's the problem; do we want WHM to be in a place where they are fully capable of doing DPS and healing without any draw backs or penalties to the other? What about a circumstances where it's preferable to have a WHM dps in place of BLM? What about WHMs in consideration of other healers when you take into account of the aforementioned elemental weaknesses?

    I can't see how someone would prefer to have a WHM DPS more than a BLM. That's just impossible. BLM would still has more tools to deal dmg higher than WHM even if a mob was weak to Aero or Stone or Holy. As for other Healers, just add elements to their spells. The weakness bonus doesn't have be huge. I just refuse to accept that I can cast Fire on Ifrit and it does dmg instead of healing him.

    What tools are you talking about? You've essentially scrapped their tools from blizzard and thunder in favor of an element mechanic by tossing them over to transpose. This also creates a rift among other dps jobs on whether or not you want them over a BLM from an optimization standpoint. This is what I was talking about if you can't see it; you wanted to get rid of thunder (which currently has it's place in thunder cloud procs) and blizzard (umbral ice for mana regen cycles) in favor of tranpose which has a cooldown, that's already a wrench into what's already working for the sake of making it different. You also suggested a two element system between WHM and BLM, unless you wanted to add more elements to the other healers...at which point it's going to cause preferences among the healers based on the fight...unless they're all using the same element, but at that point why even bother if they're all going to get bonus damage?

    I'm not particularly fond of having multiple elemental spells just for the sake of a elemental wheel, that's a textbook example of button bloat in an mmo setting. Each ability and spell should realistically have it's purpose or gear in the spanners, which is what the current presentation of BLM does right now.

    Except they already use all 3 elements without the need of an elemental wheel. Skipping out entirely on thunder is a dps loss thorugh the form of DoT and procs, and both fire and blizzard have their place in the flow of a BLM's gameplay, except now you're only nessitating the use of certain elements in certain fights, creating the aforementioned button bloats when skills serve no purpose otherwise.

    And as I mentioned before, if you're giving the healers all the same elements, then what's even the the point to begin with if they're all having the same damage bonus perks? It just seems like adding things for the sake of adding it. There's a reason why things should be introduced for that point alone, especially if their concern is the development constraint.

    I think we're all in agreement that the game is lacking longevity, but it's not for the reasons that raids are overly simple. The problem that we're coming around is that people are talking down about content that they haven't touch, and ultimately it really doesn't make sense and has no water to back up behind it. You also have a habit of posting things without context or reasoning, which is what I assume the discussion (or lack of) is going on about.

    Completely missed the point on what I said. The Element Wheel thing I was talkin about was to allow BLM to switch around their Effects, Thunder would now MP Regen and Fire would become the Thunder Proc and Blizzard would be the main source of DMG. How would that add anymore Button bloat if it's the same thing of a different element, over my Original idea? As of right now healers are basically all the same. There's literally no point to add anymore more Tanks and Healers if they aren't gonna try something different. Plus the answer to the Button Bloat would be a limited form of the gambit system. That why the game autos on what you want to activate you can focus on your main button uses.

    The irony is that how restrictive the game and designs are. What my problem is that many enjoy having the Dev Team just reuse old assets and the same old nonsense in a different environment. That's not being creative or innovating.... It's just being lazy. Do people not see how all the problems that were mention in this thread, will happen sooner or later? People talk about this game losing it's identity, but little do they know, this game lost it's identity a long time ago. The game needs game changing ideas, not just reskin content.
