This is what I mean. At this point this thread is just a giant mess of emotions. People are scared right now, because they don't know what's going to happen for 4.0.
We just finished 3.0s main story. It's coming to an end, which brings uncertainty. People have a natural instinct to hack at things when they start getting bored. 3.0 had one purpose, and it was to extend the game on a deeper level. It fulfilled that purpose, and now we have to see what 4.0 leads into. All threads like this do is feed on that hydra of negativity. If 4.0 comes, and it doesn't expand on the game even further, then you can cry about it, but honestly nobody sane makes dramatic changes in a first expansion. You have to lay down the grounds for change before you can really take off. It's important to replicate that same success by building off of what is already working. If it isn't broken, why should you try to fix it?
Keep an open mind, and let the coming expansion come when it does. Tired of the similar content? That's reasonable. Just stop moaning about it, and do something productive with your life. Yes, Final Fantasy XIV is fun, but if this is the thing to make the community hack at each others throats, I question what our fanbase is going to become. All things get boring, and stale sometimes! Hell, I've spent most of my life studying music, and even I get bored of it sometimes. There are other things I like doing in addition to the things that I like..
I am so disappointed in everything this community is starting to gravitate toward. This MMORPGs community went from being about kindness, and togetherness, to senseless greed, and elitism. Everyone has to have their way for every thing. If you don't have that one glamour, or that one exclusive minion, then you throw a hissy fit about it. I'm starting to wonder if the days of 2.0 were better, because to get what we wanted, we all had to work together. The most anyone had at the time was a million, and you couldn't get it as easily as today. It was from combat..
If there's going to be a day that I quit, its not going to because of the content, its going to be because of all of the toxic people that participate in forums like these, and duties within the game its self. Please don't make this another World of Warcraft community. Stop being greedy, start being kind, and respectful to not only each other, but the staff members of SE too! They work hard and tirelessly to do what they do, and they deserve some empathy. So Hullbreaker Isle HM wasn't that great, but Instead of complaining, I looked to the silver lining. The first boss of my favorite Final Fantasy (VI) made an appearance, and I got to have an epic fight in front of the admiral, who is one of my favorite characters.
Look to the brighter side of things NA..
