    Let's put a more positive spin on this.

    What kind of Content do you want to see developed?

    I mean that seriously. People say there "isn't content", but there is, just not content they particularly enjoy. What kind of content do you want to see?

    1. Expansive, Labyrinthine Dungeons?

    2. Extremely Difficult Mechanic Heavy Encounters?

    3. Randomized, procedural generated content (which Deep Dungeons seem to be)?

    What do you think the game is missing, if it's "missing" something? What kind of content would scratch that itch you're having. People say "take risks", but what does that mean?

    Some of these seem to be encouraged by the fanbase, while others not. For example, it seems like the player base isn't interested in large, labyrithine dungeons since dungeon delvers go out of their way to skip the few optional rooms we have. Same with exploration, considering how people reduced the (certainly flawed) Diadem into one island. A large portion of the fanbase holds no interest in Savage raids, while others focus on it exclusively. Side content like Lords of Vermillion gets completely ignored quickly enough in favor of more quick dungeon grinds. Players try to DPS or heal past as many mechanics as they can.

    What do you as a player want to see developed? Right now for me it's the Deep Dungeons, but what would satisfy you?

    I'm certainly excited for the new expansion though. Heavansward was, in many ways, an excellent refinement of what made ARR great. The story was fantastic (leagues above ARR), the dungeons and fights satisfying (especially Ravana and Thordan), and the music phenomenal. I'm guessing that the new expansion will take the game in new directions. It's a common in a lot of games. The first couple of major expansions refine on the core experience, while the others build up new experiences.

    To be fair though, the search for the "game with no longevity issues" is the Holy Grail of game design. It's very...very...very difficult.

    It's not about Gear or Items themselves. It's the cycle the Game has.

    Square Enix (The Developement Team) spoke about, that A Realm Reborn is the foundation of upcoming Expansions. These Expansions build on the Foundation, "Adding more Systems and Content".
    The Truth is simple, nothing has changed as the Thread Creator said it, Heavensward is just a little modification of A Realm Reborn, going the same routine.

    Do you want this to happen for the next Expansion aswell? "IF" we're in 4.0, do we seriously gotta do the same things as we did in 3.0?
    Sure this might work for quite some Years since this is a safe routine for Square Enix not loosing "alot" of Players.

    Yet, it's pretty sure that FFXIV will be called "The monotonous MMORPG" in the Future, if this goes on and on...

    IMO this really shouldn't be the case. Each expansion should be a new foundation that is added on top of the previous one. There's so very little you can do if they all use the previous expansion as the foundation to build upon that; it leaves much to be desired in regards to content implementation, and especially for setting up new content in the upcoming patch cycles.

    2.0 they had to redo the gameplay entirely, while adding elements like jumping, companions, the like. That's worked out very well, the world becomes a bit more fleshed out. 3.0 brought in flying, which allowed them to make the new areas as big as they are now, but the problem comes with it is that it's mostly fluff at this point because there's really no reason to be in the open world; not taking advantage of the wide open world and flying.

    If their expansion is just going to add on top of what the previous installation did, how is that any different from a patch? They've already added an entirely new job and pvp modes within each patch cycle, yet I feel that designs like FC crafting and MCH come nowhere close to as polished or in-depth as say the original frontlines or NIN.

    You see, Claymore65, people have been asking for those things and more for years. They continue to get ignored and we are just getting the same patch cycle over and over.

    All I was hoping for was a change in the current meta. Been wanting force pop tier NM with FC (Can you imagine..this game is nearly 3 years old, with 0 content for FC) where you like, farm pop items, use them to pop specific NM that give good drops..which leads me to my next part.

    Like Mwynn and RiceisNice said, they said they will be adding new content, systems and entirely new stuff. When 3.0 launched it was nothing but 2.0 with a new skin. They focused on the leveling dungeons way more then the end game content and the like.

    The interesting stats, been waiting for the stuff we were promised would come back on Alpha forums in 2013, things like enmity +5, refresh +10, store TP+ (if you google 1.0 relic stats, youll see) and I have been patiently waiting and been subbed from launch in 2010 till now. I feel like I've been led on for years waiting only to get told "no" to everything that was promised in a huge list in the 2013 alpha. Truly a disappointment what has become of things..but what more can we do but just stop playing Can't hold on forever and wait for changes that will undoubtedly never come...

    I have a mountain of things to do. There is never a time when I log in and find myself with nothing to do and I've been playing for a couple years now. Beast tribe quests, crafting and the gathering for it, new content that I've barely scratched, etc. Hell I haven't even had time to run dailies beyond mining a map out which takes all of 2-3 minutes. The pace of the content fits perfectly for some of us but I do understand that there are some players that are laser focused on just a few things and yes, those things get boring quickly. If you play the game in it's full glory I can't see how anyone would ever run out of content.

    Man, even spent an hour and a half the other night doing nothing but socializing with a FC who was complaining that I sniped one of the lots during last patch and ruined what was going to be a monopoly of their FC members in this little cul de sac. They wanted me to join them! It was great doing nothing but chatting and showing off housing ideas.

    To the point the game isn't geared for every player but those of us who enjoy it for what it is are staying put. I don't want to see the formula change.

    Make friends.... Help yore guild/FC grow and help new players LV and gear up. Feed the MB and make some Gil why lower the MB over all. Do learning plays for raids and not just think about one self.... Go work on GS crap. No one can run out of thing to do if your helping and not just carding for your self. It a MMO befor a RPG.. Play and help others to make the game a better place for all. I run a big guild and I'm always crafting, clear boss and Dungens for members.. Doing learning run 2-3 days a week. And I'm been here from 1.0beta as well, be a leader and help new players!

    I don't know who that was directed at, Lulu89, but my bf and I run our own fc with folks who've been with us since XI days and help them and others all the time. We also run a linkshell and help people quite a lot. As I said we've literally done everything in the game...

    It still does not fix all that stuff I mentioned above. :/. In fact I was suggesting they put in actual FC focused content. Anyway its not about running out of content, I already mentioned the issues and can't repeat myself and bore everyone heh.

    Ff11 was more social than this game. In all forms too; rp, fights and gather people together. How? Content it has, this game has content issues which lead to less difference on gear ot Event itself.
