    Diadem needs a complete overhaul. It was a good idea on paper but it's completely missed the mark

    Oh I agree I was there and let down, remember the airship exploratory missions came well before diadem did, and still not able to fly in a group around on the airship, even at the least in the area, I too was a bit let down by it, and the gear was pretty great, but then it was too good apparently since it made raiding slightly pointless, The fun factor, youre definately right. Gathering parties are slightly more entertaining but again the nodes drop only 4 or 5 items, half of which can be mined with less danger in the hinterlands tbh.

    Question is, how exactly does one make Diadem more engaging? Only thing I can think of is putting specific goals to take on in there for extra currency to buy things like tier 5 materia, orchestrion rolls, mounts/minions. It is hard to balance obtaining gear in there. Last time 210 dropped like candy and people getting ilvl210 gear with good stats was actually not uncommon. Diadem looks so much like a mess to me that I don't even know how you can completely fix it.

    Less a bout the gear and more about the content in general. You have no synergy or cooperation between combat/gathering classes because the nodes are never really in a state of danger. The no-fly zones are underutilized and can be a perfect example of the aforementioned synergy where you'd escort the gatherers and protect them as they gather the rare/exclusive materials. Add some of hte FATEs they love so much through the form of gathering items or procuring monster drops, and completing the objective unlocks new points or exploration areas by building a bridge or clearing rubble. Diadem treasure maps to draw out monsters or find treasures. All of this is just from me brainstorming for 3 minutes, alongside with the impressions I got from their trailer of all things. I'm astonished that more than half of what I brainstormed isn't the case.

    Right and my thoughts were similar on how to make it better. Usually when I think of content like this, I think about the lasting appeal. Things are usually fun at first, but usually starts becoming a chore to a lot. I always like to think of what will entice people to keep jumping back in even if it feels like a chore. Something like gear is enticing, but will the developers take time to make a dedicated set? Or try the random stats gear again? Where would it be placed? Yoshi-P said he regrets making the gear 210 as it caused an unbalance with tomestone/raid gear. I am interested to see in what they come up with.

    Diadem looked good on paper. Was executed poorly and only amounted to trash mob farms and Srank hunt like monsters.

    Not to mention gatherers needed bodyguards to get anything done.

    Such a joke. Only went in there 5 times.

    And exploration? Bold faced lie.

    Completely agree. I just cannot take playing the same reskinned stuff anymore, I feel like a brain dead ape playing..lol and mostly likely will join my friends who quit years ago in 2.3...; ;

    and since people are so adamant to defend the boring tome stones, same formula since 2.0..and wanting innovative stuff is so horrible and blasphemous to ask, there is no point in staying subbed. I'll always keep watching and checking to see if they change things up..but if not, I think its time for my buddies and I to all unsub.

    People can stay with the same boring formula for years to come! yayyyy >.>

    I still stand by my Limited Gambit idea. That would honestly help lessen the button bloats. If anything, I rather they add that. Something has to give because I'm not doing the same thing in 4.0. That's when I say enough is enough.
