I know the feeling OP. I'm too nearing my breaking point. Only reason I'm still here is cuz I love the people I know in-game.

Yeah sorry OP, I don't feel this way at all.
I don't do dailies, except for heavensward beast tribes occassionally. I craft for people, gather, play the marketboard game, socialize, run an instance if I feel like it or join EX primal farm parties. I also raid savage two nights a week and that's always fun for me. It helps that I don't need lore for anything since every class I play is already good enough for all the content in the game sans A7s/A8s, though I usually end up capping lore anyway completely by accident lol.
I just do whatever seems fun at the time and enjoy myself. Sorry you aren't having fun.
Also on the relic discussion-they do typically last 6 months. The faster you get them done, the more use you get out of it.
Not to mention if you play a scholar, you're basically required to do relic, because every other weapon released in heavensward except ravana's weapon and midas 4 savage's are garbage.

While it's not directly addressing anything you said (and I did read it all, you had a lot of valid points), I want to point one thing out:
For me, personally, the amount of content, while feeling a bit lacking, is enough to keep me entertained. I came here from WoW, which can go 6+ months without any kind of content update or anything, so what we have here can easily satisfy me, and while not everyone here came from there, I'm sure there's a pretty decent number of us who did, and see the green grass on this side of the fence. Something does need to change, I'm not going to pretend that it doesn't, but maybe, just maybe, it's not as bad as it can feel?3. That the entirety or majority of the player base is actually satisfied with the state of the game and its lack of content and couldn't care less otherwise despite the many others I've seen actively state their disdain for the current state of the game and how it's fallen from how it felt before.

I honestly can't understand when people say they just stand around with nothing to do. Maybe I'm just a completionist or something. Have you leveled every job to 60, including all hand and land jobs? Have you leveled your companion chocobo up to 20? Have you gotten a pedigree 9 chocobo through racing? Have you gotten every single old (read level 50) and new relic? There are things to do, and to keep you occupied. You just may not want to do them, and I get that. However, just because you wish to ignore content because it doesn't interest you doesn't mean you are out of things to do. So yes, take a break maybe you'll come back and find something that interests you.

While subjective, that sounds like just "Doing it just to do it" rather than "Content which is worthwhile"I honestly can't understand when people say they just stand around with nothing to do. There is technically pretty much endless content but it gets to a point where you'd rather slam your head into a wall than do the "content". Levelling all jobs for example is fun, but getting 10 50 relics(I have 2 Zeta) & 13 60 relics(I have 2 at 230)? That isn't fun, that is torture. Grade 9 pedigree Chocobo? I got to grade 4 during the MGP event & it had to one of the least fun I've ever had w/ FF14, however I wanted that 50% boost. Companion to 20? Why. I got to 10 before all my jobs got to 60. There is no longer any good reason to level my companion. It gets to a point where you would rather play something fun(or slam your face into a wall) than torture yourself like a completionist. Ofc if you find it fun, that's great but a majority doesn't. It boils down to capping lore weekly doing 2 dungeons or if you raid(maybe 5-10% of the pop) you get to run the same 4 10 min raids every week for 7 months for gear that will be near useless every 7 months.

I actually quite enjoy/enjoyed doing all the things I mentioned. Plus I still log in daily and have a huge "to do" list, that seems to only be added to each content patch. I'm currently sitting on 140 + days of play time on this character alone, and I always have something to do and needs doing. All the content is worthwhile to me, though I suppose some, like yourself, find most of it dull and not worth doing.
