first off, im pretty happy with the way ff14 is developing, i thank the team for the effort so far and hope this is just the tip of the iceburg for the game. it has so much untapped potential.
i have a few suggestions though, that i hope are being looked into or maybe will be in the future. this isnt a flame post in anyway shape or form, just one persons view. i never back track to reread what ppl say as this is simply my opinion to the developers, not an issue for a wanted debate
Crafting: 1. allow a more seamless process when crafting outside a leve: ie/ give reg crafting the same option to make another item as previously like what happens during leves. skip the unecessary rechoosing the same item, the same mats, the same mainhand etc... pointless steps really that serve no purpose but to annoy. leve crafting is much smoother in that regard.
2. lower overall destablizing of crystals.
3. lower failure rate when you actually get closer to the "level" of the recipie. at present one fails as much at 50 on a 40 recipie as you do at lv 35 trying to attempt it. that, inherently makes no sense whatsoever.
4. a complete recipe book. we should never have to rely on an outside website to obtain current recipes avail. that is really really silly.
i realize 11 was like that as i played it for years, but time to enter this century ^^. any recipe learned should be accessable from an organized, divided by class/level etc book. the few saved now are mixed and way way too fewremain on our list.
if adding individ. player books are too much, then think about creating a main public recipe book maybe from each guild?.
each guild could have an interactive book to click on and use by everyone? something should be done. needing to dl websites...or print up binders of info is simply not very customer friendly. all this info is used ingame and thats exactly where we should have access to it.
Battle:1. reduce CD of all tp generating moves.
2. remove the tooltip pane completely or/ allow for the option in config to turn it on/off. as of now it is completely in the way of battle viewing, pretty much no matter where i move my action bar to, its far too immense and takes away the "feel" of battle.
3. keybind to "target nearest enemy" for goodness sakes, i have to be facing the target? why? if i am not facing any enemys it targets me...that in no way speeds battle or aids battle.
if i need to stop, turn around then again hit bind for targetting thats simply too much time wasted. target nearest enemy should do just that, whether im upside down, sideways, facing the mob...or not. please fix that as targetting the needed mob in most fights is still very time consuming and not smooth at all, especially when duoing and having multiple mobs attacking. its nothing short of a mess ;;. its usually easier to target a party member or a mob 300 yalms away then the one closest to me, actually beating on my partner.
4. allow diff number of bars to be visible and locked in. scrolling bars again is passe. allowing optional # of bars to be locked and visible during battle would improve battle immensely.
5. allow resizing of action bar. and more downsizing on target bars and chat box.
Mail: omggg please, since day 1 this should have been active. #1 priority
Food effects: why the cloak and dagger on this? again outside websites shouldnt be needed to look up food stats nor should one need to eat every single food in the game to find out. i mean really. not everything needs to be cryptic or hidden. state effects of foods right on icon info. geeez
Anyway just a few things that i still think need some work. i do hope someone from SE gets to read this and really sit back and see its only to make the game more enjoyable in the long run. after all, that IS why we play...no?
many thanks.
Misty.
