Glamour book?

With all the talk about inventory, has anyone suggested a glamour book to SE so that we can just click and add old, useless gear to the book instead of having to store i55-i100 level 60 gear for all eternity? The current system just seems like a good way to lose inventory space as expansions come driving along and it isn't practical to constantly house keep. Especially if someone wants to just use an old item for glamour and suddenly has to start unsync farming some old instance for it.

The idea has been brought up, and most people want it.

The general consensus is that SE won't implement it while they are still making money off of additional retainers.

Plus I'm pretty sure we got some excuse along the lines of "A glamour catalog for everyone would take up too much space but we will think about it... please look forward to it!"

That's an interesting idea! A Glamour catalog i'd really like a QoL feature like that.

Q: Are there any plans to add a feature where any item you obtain once is recorded in some sort of a directory, and even if you get rid of that equipment, you can use a glamour prism on anything in the directory? With a feature like this, users could create a lot more room in their inventories.

A: Yoshida: If that were possible, it would be easier to just increase inventory space. Every player would have to acquire item obtainment information data, which would be very difficult.

That said, they did say in last week's Letter from the Producer LIVE: E3 2016 Edition that we'll be getting more inventory space in 4.0.

I don't think we need this, it's things like buying gear for glamour that keeps the market alive. Calm down on your glamour or convert/discard/desynth some pieces.

I'm not sure I understand how this would hurt that market. People would still need to buy the gear in order to add it to their catalog, so unless there's a significant number of people who are repeatedly buying the same item off the MB to glamour (which seems unlikely), this shouldn't pose any significant detriment on that.

If anything, it's likely to help the market. If people no longer have to try and manage their limited inventory capacity when it comes to glamour items, they're able to purchase glamour items that they might have otherwise passed over, due to not having the space for it. Additionally, you'll entice completionists to acquire items they might not have otherwise gone after, simply to fill out their catalog.

Can't they atleast add a way to directly see what glamours are available for your class? I don't have a clue what the looks or even names are of all the sets introduced before 3.2

It won't destroy the market, you still have to acquire the gear to add to the book or whatever. They aren't saying give them all the gear free for glamour, they want to be able to add it to a list or something once they acquire the item so they don't have to store the item indefinately.
