At first sight i thought it was really satisfying that SE managed to introduce a third weapon path for those that don't want to raid or go for relic.

I've been getting these weapons since they were first introduced (i think it was i100 weathered then upgradable) but lately im starting to think that the reward in term of secondary stats is not that motivating. For example hellfire battleaxe, str/vit, parry, sks. I find sks to be rather important up to a point, no comment about parry, but not as important as crit or determination.

I know im a lazy roe lol, but srsly waiting for 7 weeks to get midan gear + 1300 lore for a weapon which is i230 (ok, no regrets!) and upgradable to i240 with AS?? That will take me ~2-3 weeks to learn/clear it so that makes it MANY weeks of patience and struggle for a weapon.

Please share your opinion.

Tome weapons are the best. They're only slightly worse than relics at worst and don't require a huge, boring grind. Don't like it? Start that horrible grind or get a Nidhogg weapon.

Get a Nidhogg weapon - a week of practice (at most) and 10 successful kills max.
Boss itself is pretty easy, once you have people that don't panic and know the mechanics.

Tome weapons are the easiest to get, hardly the best.

It's fine as it is. Tome weapons are either from a6s clear or 7x Midan Gears. Gobdip will be released to the public sooner or later. Clearing raid = easy access to upgrades. That, or you do relic grind or clear NidEx.

I am a lazy ass too, hence why I use tome weapons for my tanks.

Weapon as it stands is the single best upgrade you can get. It is logical that the upgrade for the easiest weapon to get shouldn't be available too quick. Thus the boring relic is there for the late catch ups mainly for the casuals to get and for raiders to achieve BiS.

The lore weapons are enough if you don't do harder content and you have to deal with the lame secondary stats if you are to lazy to do the relic or to raid. You don't need BiS if you don't raid.

Even the nidhogg weapons aren't good from their secondary stats but its like the tome weapon: If you don't raid you don't need BiS!

For a lot of Jobs the Lore weapon is a solid investment, the stats are greater on them than a lot of the Nidhogg weapons and in a few weeks you can upgrade them to ilvl 240 with a drop from the Weeping City anyway.

a higher ilvl weapon will always be the best regardless of secondary stats because the main stat an weapon damage increase you get from it will outweight whatever stats youve lost, so as such lore weapons are the third best weapons (outshined by i240 relic only because customizable stats and midan weapon) in the game currently if upgraded to i240.

However i am still puzzled as to why there is still a cap on midan gears, given that you need savage to make it 240 to begin with and it already takes 3 entire weeks to get the lore for this wep on top of nidhog being widely farmable to the public which provides BETTER weapons when lore is not upgraded...so....it really makes no sense. 7 weeks for one i230 weapon < a week for multiple i235 weapons

The secondary stats on Tome weapons are intended to be less appealing. If they weren't, then no one would have a reason to grind out a relic/raid/trial weapon instead. I agree that their secondary stats are often flat out useless, which is silly, but the weapons themselves are still solid for use in standard content. You don't really have to focus on min/maxing when it comes to Ex roulette.
