    Question about chandelier light.

So, I got a small house and I was thinking about buying two chandeliers for it. That said, I don't like chandeliers with flash effects and tons of different lightning colours, actually, I tend to find them a bit tacky. But before spending any gil, I wanted to know if bigger chandeliers (like the riviera chandelier for example) have a bigger light range? Or is it the same, and the only thing different are their possible effects and looks?

Most of the city-state ones seem to give off the same amount of light, but the glade ones have a yellow tint to the light.

That's a tough decision to make. I have an ice chandelier downstairs and the one with the candles in it (I forget the name) upstairs. Both give off different light than the one that comes with the house, with the ice one obviously blue light but I didn't expect such an orange/redish color from the candle one. It made it hard to decorate. Your best bet is to tour a bunch of houses to see what effect you like and go with that.

For the most part, as long as you avoid chandeliers that have crafting mats that come from Duties and Trials, you should get standard lighting without any flashy effects on the ground. Check out http://en.ff14housing.com/itemlist.php?h=8 to get an idea of at least the color tone of each chandelier. I would recommend doing a google image search before buying, if you're not 100% sure whether the chandelier you're considering has any extra effects.

I have the star and moogle ones and while I can't compare them to the original lighting they don't have weird floor effects or colours like the allagan or diamond/ice ones do.

My house is not like the best in the world but you can see what they look like (the upstairs clashes so bad but I like the stuff xP).

Enthauptet, it's that stained glass! Surprisingly hard to find stuff to go with it. I had the same problem going and finally settled on marble flooring and carbuncle furnishings. They go quite well with the plaster/stone mist pillars to break things up and planter partitions. Basically anything that doesn't have too much wood (there was no better way of wording that) in it. It works pretty well with the ice chandelier. Might spring for some of those fancy (alagan?) furnishings that are blingy.

Thanks for the info I'll have to check out more items again. It is unfortunate you can't preview what housing items look like before you make them or buy them.

The site Beckett mentioned has images available for most of the furniture items (I think some exterior house fixtures don't have pictures still).
