Nvidia GTX 1080 Frame Rate issues

Since I have upgraded from the Nvidia GTX 960 (4GB VRAM) to the Nvidia GTX 1080 (8GB VRAM), I have been getting weird frame rate issues when in certain places of the game

Here are some scenarios which I just encountered.

    1) Iydllshire and some areas of major cities, would be, where I would get my frame rate drops from over 60fps straight down below 45fps, I guess it’s because of the amount of people in one place at one time, however that is nothing compared to the frame rate issues I found in Void Ark.

    2) When doing the Void Ark after completing a smooth run in the Weeping City, I found that after a few seconds upon entering the raid, the frame rate when from around 70-80fps, drops to a poor 25fps, without me knowing why. Even when lowering the graphics settings to the lowest one, the problem still is there. The weirdest thing is that when I ALT + TAB, out of the game and re-enter, the frame rate goes back above 60 fps before dropping back down to under 30fps again, when I tab back into the game.

    3) at random moments whenever I tend to watch some (not all) YouTube videos on full screen, on my second monitor whilst playing FF14, even in areas that are not populated, the frame rate will drop, until I come out of full screen mode on the YouTube video on my second monitor. (Both monitors are 1080p)

In normal dungeons and most areas, the frame rate seems to be very smooth around about 60fps and over (150-180fps)

I'm in trouble too, in my case the game is forcing the clock of my gtx 1080 to 2000 MHz, almost blew my gtx 1080 so I had to limit the clock it

I thought that was the point of the new Turbo for nVidia. It automatically clocks the card higher as long as it's within safe thermal and power limits.

Its likely Nvidia driver issues, Nvidia has had really crap drivers for a couple years now as their QA declines.

    Maybe Drivers issue.

I'm using GTX 970 and getting stable 60 fps everywhere except when mega hunt happened, which would dip my fps down to about 40~

I've ordered a 1080, when i've got the 970 two years ago i had FPS issues, it was performing worse than the 570 i had.

Two years later, despite getting a second 970 for SLI it was fixed with drivers, guess we have to wait.

    Installed the 1080 recently.
Experienced 60fps everywhere up until now. After alt-tabbing back into the game my frame-rate dropped majorly. Restarting the game client did not fix.
Following several alt-tabs and exiting Discord my fps returned to normal.

I suspect this had to do with the GTX 1080 and 1070 frame latency issue that was addressed in the most recent driver.

It's a driver issue on Nvidias end. Thats one of the downsides of grabbing a new card, with a brand new architecture right when it's released.

1080fe, Win7 and Skylake here, no issues, lowest I get is 60FPS in heavily crowded areas. DX9 client.

Make sure your game is set to "max performance" in nvidia 3d settings - program settings.

    Also windows 10 sucks.
