One of the bigger, more recent gripes about the relic is how SE is essentially forcing players to double dip. By that I mean:

You run content ad nauseum when it's new til you just get sick of it (tome weapons now take 7 weeks at least to get).
THEN, the relic gets tied to the same content and forces you back into it albeit briefly, as because people were already tire of it, they'll get what they want and set themselves free, never wanting to bother running that content again for as long as possible. Reviving the Tower Weeklies was exactly this. As was Gordias.

I'm aware they're intent is to maintain a bottomline where no one will be stuck because "nobody does X content anymore" but this approach simply burns people out and ages content even faster.
