I really wish there was an option for "tells" to be limited to friendlist only

I have tells and their notification sounds turned off for all my logs because the constant gil spammers have been driving me bonkers.

I looked in my setitngs for a bit, so maybe I'm just blind and didn't see it... but an option checkmark that you could turn on/off to limit who can send you tells would be nice.

I'd really like an option to only let people on my friend list send me tells.
It would be nice to not have to make linkshells just to avoid gil spammers...

I wish there was too, my friendslist is full so spam FR requests wouldn't be able to bother me either

Yeah, I still have tons of room for my friend list, so I still have trouble with the FC request spammers, though thankfully I've been lucky not to have encountered any lately. Can be really annoying to try to blacklist faster then they can send the request.
Though in contrast, my blacklist usually fills up much faster than SE deletes the gil spam accounts...

I'm convinced SE doesn't delete any of the Gil sellers. My blacklist hasn't changed at all, so none of the ones I've blacklisted have been deleted. :/ But I kind of wish /tell was a friend only thing as well. Because I get annoyed at the Gil seller tells, but I don't always want to put myself on Busy, because then I have to turn off busy just to accept trades and party requests from my FC friends (so lazy on my part, but we do a lot of trades and invites some days so it gets to be inconvenient to always have to switch it off and then back on).

Right-click report is coming in 3.4 which SHOULD help your problem significantly by making XIV a far less viable place for gil sellers to advertise

When characters get banned they don't get deleted, though, so them still being in your list doesn't mean they're still running about.

Funny how they can limit mail to only friends, but not tells...

Because if RMT were to be suppressed that's half the active subscribers that would disappear.

Sometimes I think I would like that option too, but all that will do is bring back the friend request spam, which takes more work to ignore than the tells because they still show up in your list as Pending, even if you click No.

the friend requests are already fixed. they have changed it so you can only send 5 friend requests a day.
