    I remember my first run through 1-60 and thinking the same. The only thing I needed to know was my main stat and I never saw a reason to meld anything since I was going to get better gear as I unlocked more dungeons. Then when I hit ilvl220-230 and first attempted melding, "i guess i'll just meld more strength an- oh nevermind."

    then I learned melding is really pointless unless you want to do Savage, which for me is too time consuming for the rewards, but thats a different topic. As a DRG main, after mastering my rotations, my stats dont make a significant difference.

    I didn't really like any of your options for raiding. I don't think any of the options you have depict my perceived problem with raiding and such. I'd at least like to see different kinds of "fail" mechanics as opposed to the DPS check and Enrage timer. Sure, the war of attrition isn't the most exciting way to do boss fights, but at least it's something different. I dunno. I'd just like to see DPS be less emphasized in certain fights. I'd also wish they'd be careful with some of the emphasis in spell effects overall flashiness/business on the screen. I haven't really had an issue with most fights but Thordian EX really hurts my eyes and sometimes gives me a headache ><;

    Tanks had a reason to care about stats. They took it away by making VIT the DMG mod vs STR.

    Gear Progression Poll
    I think weekly caps and lockout should be based on the number of jobs you have at cap.
    If I have 1 jobs at cap my weekly cap should be 450. Then to speed up the gearing process say add 50 for every job you get to cap. Get all classes to cap and you could gear up jobs faster and play how you want. VS being stuck till odd number patch gear up you off jobs. Even at a cap of 1000, with 11 jobs at cap.. You still will not get capped gear for all your classes quickly.

    To surmise my thoughts though I think the devs are doing a lot more right than wrong (especially when compared to many of the other mmos on the market). As for the complaints I see about the game (from long time players) it often boils down to them being tired of the current mmo genre as a whole rather than FF14 simply being "bad".

    The current formula hasn't been working for some raiders since 2.x and they haven't changed anything at all, i'd even say they changed it to worst, Coil was fun, had nice glamours, Alexander is boring and has glamours that look like they were made.

    I voted for this (not that anyone cares, not the point anyway)

    I hope they change how it is, because there's so many flaws in the current formula it's not even fun, weekly RNG limits, ONE end game, recycled mechanics, bad glamours, no real benefit in getting end game gear from raids, it increases main stat, that's it, should have gear sets from raids.

    All i know is that the amount of people who clear end game raids has reduced drastically, and is still going down.

    Is it because it got harder or is it because raiders are leaving?

    I tell you, raiders are leaving, and the reasons behind it are what people have been debating and asking for.

    If they don't change the formula in one year we'll see how the game is doing.

    I love this game and i don't have another one to play (GW2 just doesn't do it anymore, and WoW i haven't played since the start, i look t it as something very dated), i only log to do some boring hunts here and there, i wish there was more than one end game, including 4-man end game stuff (would help a lot in making statics), but no they just throw raiders more casual stuff, as if there's isn't enough already.

    6 Months of the same end game is way too much.

    What you're talking about is the state of raids (the content), not the state of raiding (the system). I have... a ton I could say on the state of raids themselves, but that's another topic for another day.

    You're also doing this a bit, talking about raids rather than raiding. You get pretty subjective in your comments on raids as well, and I can't say I agree with your thoughts on Alexander as content.

    I think the data this poll shows is pretty interesting. So far, it does seem that people like the game how it is in general. There are obvious nitpicks, but they are things that are much more specific than a lot of forum and reddit posters might have believed. Things like "Make gear last longer, but don't break the status quo" really stand out to me. Also I think the raiding outlook is interesting too. People liked Coil, and people want a more tiered attitude towards raiding. There is probably a middle ground there that isn't redesigning their raiding formula from the ground up.

    Perhaps SE should run some FFXIV surveys, like they did when 1.0 bombed to get a better idea of what players think and want. and then take it from there.

    Player polls tend to be biased in the way they are written too. And these polls were no exception, though they were still better than some of the other ones, Ive seen on here.

    The "bias" was pointed out to the OP on reddit, and they acknowledged it. Just take it with a grain of salt like every "statistical" study. Unless the sample is in the thousands we're only looking at a slice of the community. Naturally, I agree that it would be better if SE did this themselves. xD
