Just a couple questions. I had my FC leader make me a HQ Boltmaster's set (Weaver) and I was thinking about eventually making sets for the other crafts. Is this a total waste of time and gil? I like the way they look. Since I have the Boltmasters set, how should I meld it and what should I craft with it if not the other job specific sets? Also need some advise on the right side accessories if you want to toss that in there. Thanks!

Unfortunately these sets are going to be considered obsolete soon because of everyone switching to the ironworks gear for everything. If you wanted to turn in scripts for the dice or cups to get the upgraded augmented sets. Also the script gear is insanely easy to do. I would SB that boltmaster sets asap and then switch to the augmented if you don't want to craft the ironworks. Right now BIS accessories are also ironworks. There is another thread that talks about that specifically and how people are melding that.Just a couple questions. Thank you very much panderin. Although it's going to be a lot more work and gil, I think I might just work through doing the sets and augmenting. The RP in me much prefers the separate sets this go around and I'm not bent on making the top tier stuff. Mainly just craft for me and my close friends/family. I had no idea what those goblin cups and dice did. I saw them but there wasn't much of a description on what they were for. Also, you have to SB fully to augment? That's going to take some time.

I've pentamelded everything except for the off-hand, I'll meld it depending on the stats required for 4* recipes and/or stats required for specific rotations. I just saw no reason to wait and this way I can easily craft every non-specialist recipe.

The notion to SB the boltmaster's set is to make some gil, since it has a good chance to convert into grade V crafting materia.Thank you very much panderin. The i180 version of the set you have, the boltkeeper's set, is used when augmenting to i200. You can do this at the goblin NPC near the one that upgrades law/eso/lore gear, in Idyllshire.
Thanks for the clarification Nezerius. I have a nasty habit of not converting gear until much later on when something more attractive comes along, especially if it's melded. Missing out on a lot of materia I know. It just never dawns on me.
I over meld everything to cap apart from MH OH as I'm using re scrip for them. I've done it now cause it's out of the way and there will be no more crafting gathering gear set to craft until expansion. The requirements for next War And Mag set will probably be 950 craft and 920 control. And I way ahead of that already so I can forget about melding and capping and focus on crafting by that time. I'm buying tier V when is cheap for 4.0 lol

I admit, I'm a bit confused when it comes to melding. I have the full HQ Ironworks gear, but I haven't melded it yet. What would you recommend? Is CP more important than Craftsmanship or Control? I guess my question is this: If you have a blank slate of HQ gear, what would you put into it? What would be your priority for 3-star crafting?
