    Gearing up

Ok, so now that I have one job at 60 for crafting (culinarian) and a few more to follow soon, from what I am hearing, I should go buy the Carbon gear? I know it can't be overmelded and have to place the IV materia on right so I can make the 3* crafts (after getting the books). I can afford to buy the HQ armor. Do I need to get the acc too? Or more better, what ones to actually get?

Also, should I try to get the craft specific gear? I'm focusing on Cul, Alc, and I think Leather. Ya, seems like the crafting scene is confusing for someone now entering into it.

Properly melded carbonweaves will be enough for some high end crafts assuming you have a good MH and OH. Accs are important because you will need certain CP minimums to craft high end stuff realistically into HQ.

On the other hand the skills needed for crafting require a lot of cross classing depending what rotation you want to use. Work on all your DoHs for them.

Also... IW gear is becoming steadily cheap. You may want to jump straight to them if you can. Carbons are mainly a stepping stone for those peope like me who made our own IW stuff.

Can't edit on phone so yeah.

Carbonweave mats are really cheap and IW mats are dropping in price. If we assume you bought all the mats yourself rather than gather them you can have carbon gear for pocket change if you get someone to make them for you instead of the silly markup prices on MB.

What red and blue script gear should I get? I imagine the crafting main/off for those crafts I really want to focus on.

Also other question still in air (though guess script question covers it) but the craft specific gear. Get it for my Cul, Alc and Leather?

The carbons and ironworks renders craft specifics as essentially useless now except for glamours. I suggest skipping them.

Scrip gear cannot be melded. In my case I use scrip MH for my crafters due to the prohibitive crafting and costs of crafted MH. If you cannot afford it then definitely only use reds for the main. Personally red scrip armor is outclassed by crafteds.

So Meo I just got my blacksmith to 60 bought the crafted body 180, but all my other stuff is the Moogle vender gear. What should I be doing next, cont getting the crafted 180 stuff or should I be getting ironworks gear? I personally love the look of the red script blacksmith gear.

The blacksmith AF2 is using blue scrip now and it's pretty fast to obtain.
