Early Pulling - Is it wrong?

One of the problems is people shouting out a hunt or linking them in LS over and over again... A hunt should be announced once and only repeated (or posted in other LS) within 10-15s.

Nothing worse than waiting 3-5 mins and then some slacker arrives finally just to post the hunt in all his LS again, like 'Look at me, I'm actually participating in this LS, hurrdurr.'

If you're not monitoring your LS and searching for a hunt somewhere you're not meant to get a hunt anyway.
If you're crafting, gathering, fating, idling, queuing, questing, etc.. consider everything you get as a bonus.

There's a guy in Ragnarok that always pulls as soon as he gets there, everybody knows him and he's been blacklisted by hundreds of people. I asked him politely why he was doing that and he answered "fun".
Honestly, when it's this exaggerated this should fall into the category of griefing, I've stopped hunts altogether literally thanks to this guy, he made me despise them.

I do hunts, I play on Ragnarok and I have no idea who your talking about so 'everyone knows him' is not true. I highly doubt any single individual can be at every hunt and be the person who pulls at each. It is not griefing to pull at any given time, it might be stupid to pull when not enough people are there because you will just die though. It is however harassment if name shame with shouts as a way to single someone out for abuse and such, it is harassment to send abusive tells to someone and it is harassment to keep resetting a hunt to prevent people from killing it. Those three things are reportable.

Pulling and not waiting for you/me and/or your/my friends is not. I personally wait a few minutes after enough people have turned up to actually beat the target but I will not wait there all day for stragglers and there is no official amount of time anyone has to wait. If I do not make it in time I don't get my knickers in a twist over it though, I am not entitled to force everyone to wait for me and if I see anyone name shaming someone as a way to target them for abuse I will report the person name shaming. To be honest there is way too many people hiding behind the excuse of "consideration" or using the term "early pulling" as a smoke screen for actually meaning "they never waited for me" in here.

They don't wait for me either and quite often I don't make it in time but so be it, no big deal. I have no intention of harassing people over it. Hunt mobs are not finite, they spawn all over Eorzea, most spawn every few hours in regards to A ranks, the S spawn generally every day or two days but they also require more people to actually kill it so people wait longer for people to arrive on those. It would be nice if SE added more hunt mobs in this game and maybe increase the spawn rate, remove the link to gear progression so that people only do them because they enjoy doing them, perhaps introduce a level sync to them too but I am not entitled to take part in every one that spawns plus I don't get to dictate how long everyone should wait and neither does anyone else here.

You are wrong. Do not confuse not being in your hunt linkshell with not doing hunts on either of my two characters. I may do them less on this character compared to my other one but between the two I do them fairly often.

Well... my 2 cents is that I have stopped responding to call outs in my Hunt LS because of early pullers. So many times I immediately rush to the location only to get there and find the rare already dead. It is very vexing :/

That's mainly because of people who have 2 or more hunting LS. They get the announcement in one of them, travel all the way to the hunt and then 'Oh yeah, I should announce him in all my other LS'.
So hunt is already up and announced for 2-3 mins and suddenly the 2nd or 3rd wave of (so called) 'hunters' appear, shouting 'inv inv inv', 'wait pls', 'fck ninja pullers', etc.

If you're in an LS where the hunts are announced asap and teleport asap you should get at least 9/10 hunts, that is if you skip those which are just gamble like Maracco or Melt far away.

People have just to use the same 'tricks' those ninja pullers use, be connected, be fast, be in areas where hunts are open. And lower your expectations if you can only hunt on prime time.

I think some people, like myself, consider "early pulling" as the act of not waiting for the person who spawned the mob OR pulling the mob before the group which discovered it was ready. The group who discovered / popped it should be the puller. Not some random player who just arrived 30 seconds later and is too impatient to wait for the discoverer's group to gather.

You think S ranks spawn every day or 2 days? Are you sure you do hunts often?
There are only 3 S rank mob that CAN be spawned in 2 days, and by just a couple of hours. Most take 3 or 4 days to be able to be spawned.
No S rank mob "spawns" every day.


Also, S ranks don't just magically appear every 3 or 4 days. For many of them, it takes a lot of effort (sometimes with several people) to make it spawn. To say "S ranks spawn" is not very accurate. They are made to spawn.

So yeah, there is definitely a thing as early pulling when a group works hard for an hour OR MORE to spawn an S rank and then some guy runs over, shouts to his FC and LS only, and kills it before the group that spawned it even had a chance.

You are assuming a bit too much from my post. My concern isn't about getting to the hunt or not getting to the hunt because an early puller, things aren't just fine as long as I can get my seals just like things aren't horrible and unplayable if someone pulls and I cannot get any credit, my two lines of post weren't a butthurt reaction from a few missed seals, no. I'm not gonna deny "early pulling" for some people directly translates into "don't pull until I get there", but not for me. In Ragnarok there's one specific alliance that has been causing a lot of grief in this particular area, and there's one specific guy from that alliance which takes things to a complete next level. There's always gonna be that guy or that group of people who always complain about people not waiting (even though they did wait), but when you have someone doing it every time and making a sport out of it, then it feels wrong, very wrong. The "how much time is acceptable and not considered early pulling" sort of reasoning does not work here if the person in question does not even wait 1 second every time.
