I think I can beat almost every old A-Rank together with a chocobo (you could already solo marberry ages ago) and almost every new one with a group of 2-3, you just have to bring stuns/silence/etc. if needed. If early pullers were alone, they would just die by the mob. If you want to change things, then let the "early pullers" die, when they pull the mob instead of pounding at it and then push all the responsibility to them.
I kinda see it as hypocritical, so this whole conversation strikes me as one for the purpose of shaming others for the own disability you show.

Can't expect that level of forward thinking with these folks. They talk about how the community needs to come together and share and yadda-yadda but no bit of trying to send the message to the right people of "Hey, if that guy pulls, then just let him die." Despite the majority, they let one single entity hold control. And the truth with that is most people already there want to just kill it and move on. Idling there waiting for slow ass people 10-15 minutes later sucks, but the social toxicity of these "good people" keeps them at bay. So when one person actually decides to move on then they can just go with the flow.If early pullers were alone, they would just die by the mob. If you want to change things, then let the "early pullers" die, when they pull the mob instead of pounding at it and then push all the responsibility to them.

I used to play on a very bad laptop because that is all I could afford. I remember when hunts first came out and I was suuuuuper excited for them. Then reality struck and the "good people" showed how terrible they were. Where my poor laptop could handle a small group that found a hunt, it couldn't handle a quarter of the server there. So when my little group began becoming the "toxic" people that just wanted to play the game over the folks who decided I didn't get to have credit because fuckers demand to wait, I gave up for the most part. There were times when given the size of a group already and I could sense more incoming I would pull, or I would convince others to pull. People who knew my position and who gave a fuck would pull. Because I was already there, and had been since the beginning because I was a scouter.
And I'm not along on this. Anyone with a bad PC or playing on the ps3 deal with this situation. But fuck them because of someone else, right? It's as you say; it's all hypocrisy.
Even with a very good computer i already had the same problem as you when half the server was just in front of the Hunt Rank.

If u are alrady in the map of the hunt, looking for the hunt, then u can't have problem reaching the hunt... of course, if u don't hunt then u have a % of loosing the hunt... just exit and HUNT. ^ ^

I think the only time "early pull" can be said is if the players who had been trying to spawn the S rank don't even get a chance to fight it (or if they do, arrive "late" because they were on the opposite side of the map).

I'd attribute that to a severe flaw in the games design and that's something the devs really need to think about fixing. You simply can't mix an open world event along side a system that takes players trying to spawn it halfway across the zone and expect everyone to get along nicely. The event should always spawn near the players trying to spawn it. Or even take away the system to spawn it totally and just treat these S-Ranks as just super rare spawns in keeping with the spirit of hunting.

The hunts health should simply scale based on 1) amount of players there 2) combined average ilvl of the group of all players that meet the hunt rank lvlI'd attribute that to a severe flaw in the games design and that's something the devs really need to think about fixing. That way as new gear comes out the health scales as well as does the damage, that way players cannot simply burn a hunt down because now they are 40 ilvls higher than when it was first released.
You really want to make them a hunt, give them a health pool of that of a raid boss. That way it is impossible to burn a hunt down faster than it takes to get from the aetheryte to it, and it would actually require a hunting party or alliance.

I'm sorry but if me or my friends see a hunt, and no one is around, we arrange a group ourselves of whoever wants to join, and we will start killing. I don't even hunt. It's just if I see one while I'm doing my business of gathering, queuing for whatever.
This is how the system was intended, not for the whole server to appear at once and kill it. It's utterly ridiculous. I'd like to reiterate that I do not actively hunt at all, I won't descend on the hunt myself if people are calling for it, it's just if I see one on my travels.
Not sure about prime time and weekends. But general miserable people on Balmung expect 5 to 10 mins waiting. They literally expect a person to wait for the whole server. It is never one minute it is always one more minute I want X number of friends to show up one at a time.
Then a bunch of them have macros for who ever pulls before they decide is acceptable. Which is reportable since is meant to grief the player. Which I have done on occasion when bored and gathering.
Hunts are much more enjoyable when no one cares about them and 8-12 people can go from zone to zone killing them. Hell on Balmung after awhile these hunt mobs will literally be up for hours on end because people can't be bothered.
MeiUshu, here's something for you: You think I'm being discourteous to that one person who doesn't want to wait by asking them to either wait or stop hunting, and yet how many people is that person being discourteous to by pulling on arrival? 10? 50? 100? The kinds of pulls I listed in my posts are not being done by the actual hunters (the people who found and called the mark), but by the people who are arriving from other attempted hunts and/or other activities. In my opinion, people who ride/fly in and pull immediately are being discourteous to everyone both actively hunting and wanting to get in on kills by doing so.
Also, I have already stated that if the group that found the hunt pulls it, it's not early no matter how fast it's pulled, imo. In fact, they really only call hunts to others for 2 reasons: To get more bodies for hunts that are hard to do in small groups, and as a courtesy to other people who want some of the rewards from the hunt in question.
Anyway, I'm done here.
