Early Pulling - Is it wrong?

If early pulling wasn't wrong it wouldn't be reportable.

It's not, doesn't matter how early you think they pulled. What is report-able is name shaming through shouts, sending abusive tells to the person(s) or constantly resetting it just to annoy people. Pulling itself is not report-able or at least not punishable. It may sometimes might be a little bit inconsiderate you could argue but it is not harassment to pull a hunt mark before <insert random number> of people turn up.

that is not reportable...not sure where you saw that...well technically you can report anything but doesnt mean there will be anything happening. This has been stated long ago, very long ago.

If it's a Hunt, then it's a free-for-all. It's annoying that there's someone doing an early pull, but there's not going to have a patience of a saint to wait you or Joe Blow-Schmo if you show up late. You have to be either committed or willing to show up on time, or always assume there's going to be an easy pull and there's nothing you can do about it.

If it's at a dungeon, then yes it is annoying as hell. Specially if you or somebody that's new, which you want to need to explain mechanics of boss to make sure everything runs smooth as silk, but then there's always some overzealous White Mage does an Aero or some DPS with an range attack while typing up during the first sentence which makes the newbies confused and more likely to die. It's a major pain in the ass as a Tank.

I don't do hunts because of the drama. But. It's Open world content. 1st come 1st server. If you have the means to kill it, You don't have any reason to wait beyond helping the community as a hole. That being said. Having to wait extra mins over and over as person are still coming. They are wasting your time.

I was reminded of this thread today. Level 50 A rank hunt, gets put up in FC chat by my friend (at my recommendation).

So I go to where the hunt target is located on my drk. Teleported to closest aetherite, rode the 1 min trip on a porter. Waited for my other friend to arrive. She teleported to the aetherite and hopped on the porter. Disconnected about 10 seconds before arriving at destination. 2 FC mates show up. We wait for her character to log out. During this I ask one of my FC mates if they could come help this hunt. They are busy and cannot come help. The 2 FC mates leave. My friend's character finally logs out and my friend can login with the character and... has to do the entire porter ride all over again from the starting point.

When she finally arrives it takes some time for her to get down to where we are, then run partially back up to go revive our friend who spotted the mark target but got aggo'd onto and 1 shot. Ok so I am all ready to go. FC chat is silent, no info on anyone coming to help us with this. Shout chat is utterly silent. So I go and plunge to the boss and turn it away from my friends cause we have been waiting a good 10 min for anyone to come help.

All of a sudden its as if a 24 man raid group teleported onto our little 3 man party, the A rank was instantly down to 25% health in the space of ~5 seconds, aggro was ripped off me in an instant and I barely get 2 more hits in before its dead and someone in shout chat says someone early pulled before someone else announcing the next target is in Mor Dhona and the entire pack going and instantly teleporting away. Thankfully I got that first hit in, otherwise my party would of gotten nothing at all with how fast the hunt target died.

I see a lot of people saying that they think people who claim early pulling isnt really a thing pull when they get there.

But that isnt the case here, most of the people here arguing against the idea of "early pulling" are still people with common courtesy to wait a few minutes for people to arrive. It is just ridiculous that no matter how long you wait there will still be tons of people crying about early pulling and whipping out their blacklists. At some point this bs needs to stop

I have to say that while early pulling isn't technically against the rules, I don't like it when people do it, and I do my best to not do it myself.

That said, there are 2 situations that are particularly egrarious as far as "early" goes, and if I ran a Hunt LS, would get you instantly removed from it if you were in it, and banned from rejoining:

1. Running mounted up to any (A or S Rank) hunt, dismounting, and immediately pulling the mark. That, to me, is beyond rude. I don't care what else you (might) have going, don't do that. If you, for whatever reason, can't wait at least a minute after you arrive at a hunt to pull it, then don't go hunting until you can.
2. Pulling an S-Rank hunt, regardless of location, with only 30-40 people at the mark and tons more still incoming. There's enough of the hunt rewards for that extra 100+ people still incoming to get some, it won't hurt you to wait an extra minute or 2 for them to load in and arrive. Note: This isn't during the wee hours of the night/morning, but rather during prime time when there are lots of people coming. Granted, you can't wait for the entire server, but you should be able to wait for a goodly number of people to get there.

you still have not answered my question...what is the right number of min. one should wait?

1) but when he arrives people were already on it right ? so the wait was already over by maybe 1,2 3,5 mn? soo where is the rudness ?
2) what do you know there are 30, 40,100+ people coming ? to me 30-40 people is more then enough to fight anything...why woudl this be rude or anything of the like ? what is rude in this case is shout accross the land *omv* and 3mn later an entire group is still waiting...yeah`?

So again, what is the right number of minute one should wait....? is it from the moment he arrives, from the moment the first one is there ?? what?...there is no rudness to pull at any given moment by anyone...People are just sore that they didnt get their daily S rank...
