I voted yes, bu i am sad since the devs have already said no and thats probably not going to change![]()
"Poll: Would you Like to see a change in the current formula of FFXIV?"
Absolutely!
Would like an Elemental wheel to add more tactics to the game, and being able to change roles on the fly, like FFXIII.
For class/jobs to change roles would also be nice, as I would love to simply DPS with my favorite sword & shield, or grand sword.
Last time we asked for big changes was 2hen we got the current system. 1.0 has unique stats and all sorts of stuff but the bad early release press kept people from finding out how much better of a game it was before the 2.0 launch compared to release.
1.0 needed a engine overhaul for sure. But they went ham on 5he game systems too.
Do not get rid of tomes. Not everyone is completing everything with every patch. There needs to be a way for new players or more casual players to catch up. But I don't think they need to catch ALL the way up, just a way to catch up and be able to participate in all the zones (maybe not Savages).

I voted for major changes.
I am tired of minor gear upgrades being the primary reward for all content.
You know what would be fantastic? Getting rid of the 2nd ring slot for a trinket slot. Or, just give us rings that have 'magical' trinket properties. Something PLEASE. Based off the strawpoll, 3/4 (over 100 votes!) of the people who have voted so far are tired of stale state of this game.
But hey! This post will change nothing. It will just be another feature like addons, new smn pets/egi glamour, roaming primals, etc etc etc that never makes it into the game.
I really feel like this game has a very long and productive future ahead of it, lol.

What were those problems at 1.23 if you don't mind me asking? I'm not talking about the launch game that was plagued with issues and half-baked ideas that were pushed out too early for them to see the insanity of them.
Some things hit the floor for no good reason that were amazing ideas at the time.
- The overworld felt larger and more alive
- Travel felt like travel
- Equipment had unique abillties asides from basic stats
- Monsters had truely unique skills that had varied and interesting effects
- Monsters had unique Agro AI between sight, sound, scent and other behaviours such as curious and flanking you while you fought. I could name others (Check my signature for that stuff)
- Characters had solid physics behind their movements lending alot of weight to the animations. This lead to animation lock but could have been fixed without utterly removing the weight of the animations. We swing toothpicks now.

All there was to do in 1.0 was grind out dungeons where, like now, the best way to get gear was to go as fast as possible. there were 3 hm primals and 1 extreme. oh, did i mention the only way to do hm primals was to spend millions of gil on overmelding so people would take you in groups? Heck, you couldnt even get dungeon parties unless you had certain jobs and gear.
other than that, there was the hamlet defense, which i cant speak to as i never did it, and... levequests?
NM's rather quickly became irrelevent, as the gear wasn't up to snuff (hey thats like what people complain about now)
