BLU is easy. Learn skills from monsters during job quests. Done. No need to change the system as it is now to fit BLU. As long as the skills they get from job quests are "monster themed" then the class will be a success.
I still would like to say I could see DNC as a healer focus more on sustained healing over time and effects but perhaps still being allowed to attack up close. Honestly I just want some changes to the system more than we have now. Healer can be boring at time for me cus your not really in the action, your behind the lines. Surely we can somehow work a melee range healer. It would at least be different and the healing could be a direct correlation to their MP when performing somewhat like bard songs. So a good DNC would know when to play certain dances (let them be like Stances- perhaps even change the idle animation in relation?) Perhaps not as strong healing up front but the constant HoT they provide could be enough to help off-set it.
That is how I kinda vision it, just gotta get hit by the enemies skill a few times. Of course you always have that 1 NPC who tags along for healing. Gotta take a big whiff of a marlboro's bad breath to learn it. Guess if they wanted to go further some skills that would be learned normally (outside of quests) say at level 4, instead of learning the skill you get a tip box that informs you a new skill is ready to be learned from X mob. Just have to go find the mob, engage and just play the waiting game. Before anyone says that is to much work, honestly most mobs will use their skill on you within like 10 secs of the fight and being in the general job area to start I'd assume you'll have seen them multiple times. Plus I know this is not 11, but I assume the task was MUCH harder but I never played BLU there.

I have probably said this many times, but I do not want to see this in 4.0:
Tank: Another knight class.
Healer: Another wizard class.
DPS: Another DoW class, we need another DoM dps.

I don't understand the want for Dancer as a healing class. We have 3 magic based healers so to give some variety it would be better to have something like Chemist. A healer that uses science to heal rather than delving into magic.

dancer was sort of like a bard in past ff iterations, besides 11, but as a melee aoe healer/debuffer, i can see it working. dow healer right there. I liked chemist too and was hoping mch was gonna be just that till it was revealed, i think a lot of us were thinking wed get a tp based healer but nawp
I think most envision dancer as the FFXI dancerdancer was sort of like a bard in past ff iterations, besides 11, but as a melee aoe healer/debuffer, i can see it working. dow healer right there. It was done for nin in FFXI, but I imagine theyd just do a system where he has charges that auto regen for skills or something. Though if its done cheap I doubt people would mind, we already pay for food and whatever. Previous FF have had skills that let chemists use items for free.1. People are aprihensive of the idea of having to buy stuff to function, something I don;t they will use with chemist, but since the other iterations dud use items...yeah
2. Dancer runs on different opposite to magic, being a melee close range class rather than a magic long range class (in terms of attacks at least)
3. There is also some Lore problems, magitec including magic by entomology aside, The refernce points used for the setting seems to be in the Dark Ages an Rennasance periods for the most parts, which makes it unlikely that modern medicine such as vaccines and surgeries exist outisde of maybe Garlemald and Allag, to add what does exists int he setting includes Plague doctors (implied by the gear) using Leeches as treatment (SCH skill, though I'm unconvinced that actual leeches are used with them its does still imply their use in treatment) a General lack of hospitals (though that might be to magic cures making them redundant, and surgeries being similar nonexistent), lack of Prostethics and the use of Alchemy. All of which imply that a class that uses medicine would be improbable and as likely as a Gunblade class.
4. Besides, what weapon will they use? Giant Syringes? Scalpals?
Pretty sure gunblade is coming someday i heard, since yoshi likes them or something, and healing seems either magic or alchemy based as theres quests dealing with potions. I think the chemist would be an interesting fit.

Well in tactics they used knives, or guns, medic in a garlean setting could be a cool spin on it, even thouhg the medicus's use cure 1 aooarentla (but who is to say that cnj couldnt be cross class if there was a chemist class) in the dungeons we fight them in.
Consumables arent necessary, just have a 'mix' function that could act like reload except allows you to 'make an item and use it'
aka an 'ability' that heals, cleanses, regains tp/mp or buffs.
Also maybe give chemist a passive trait that DOES allow them to use phoenix downs in combat, halve item cd times or up the potency of them if used on a party member? I mean ninja gets a higher movement trait and one that reduces fall damage, so traits dont have to be related to skills at ally

You don't understand the beauty of
Thiiiiiiis and
thiiiiiiiiiis
This is why dancer is absolutely needed.
They said no new classes until 4.0.
Also, they may not even release 3 classes. I think they'll probably just release two, I don't think spacing them out in patches would be a healthy marketing / gameplay idea. They want people to be excited about an expansion, and new classes is a big pull for FFXIV, I don't see why they'd put such a big feature / hype several patches into the lifespawn of an expansion.
