    Question..

Have you guys met people in game and became good friends with them?? How did it happen? Because noone ever talks to me lol, and if we do it's like -spam jump, then runs away-. Or i'd post multiple party finders asking to join Linkshells but noone ever invited me. it's so lonely :/

You make friends in XIV the same way you would irl. Talk to people. Usually asking for help or giving help can turn into a conversation, which can turn into friendship. Dunno about Balmung, but there's usually PFs up looking for people to join their LSs on Cactuar/Lich - I'd keep an eye out for those instead of trying to start your own looking for one. Alternatively, make your own friendly LS and try to recruit people. Joining an FC usually helps as well, and being active in the chat, helping people out, etc.

I made a few friends in my FC, just chat up with some people and see where it goes.

Try a FC. Might take a while till you find the right one, but it's worth it. Took me 'bout a year to find "my" weirdos, but I'm also a slowpoke, so yah :'D

It's easiest with FC members, but in a party people never really talk.

I played XI for 7 years and it is a MUCH slower paced game, so there is plenty or time to chat while standing around waiting for people to gather or enemies to spawn. I got close with a couple guys from XI who I still consider my friends, though sadly RL has caused them to leave XIV and we don't get to talk much except for occasional FB stuff.

Just talk to people, same way you make friends in real life.

Being in a populated FC helps.

A few things you can try.

1.) Join an FC / LS AND be active in it. How to do that?
A.) Ask people to come with you when you do Roulettes. "Does anyone want to do a roulette with me?" / "Is there anyone who hasn't done today's roulettes?"
B.) If you are a crafter / desynthesizer, tell everyone in the FC / LS what you can do and tell them to ask you for help if they need it. "I am a Goldsmithing / Leatherworker / Weaver specialist, so if anyone needs something made, please don't hesitate to ask!"
C.) Ask FC members if anyone wants to join when you go do something. "I'm in a group about to queue for Weeping City. We have an opening for a healer and 2 DPS. Anyone want to join?"

2.) Join hunts. Many people gather for hunts and usually the same people. Become a regular in the hunting groups. Always be polite and thank people for finding the mob / spawning it with trigger.

3.) Use the Party Finder tool. There are always people looking for others to help them complete something / make something. Join their group and offer to help. Not only will they love you for helping, but they will surely remember you the next time they see you. Unlike Duty Finder, you can do an ID with just people in your server this way. Good way to make friends.

4.) Be polite in general. Thank you's go a long way. "Hope to see you again!". Always greet your FC and LS members when you log in and log out. Watch the FC / LS chat and say "good night" and "good morning" to people when they come in.

5.) Don't wait for people to talk to you. Okay it's not easy, if the other person is ALSO waiting for you to talk to them, then no one is going to talk. You have to make the first move and begin the conversation sometimes.

Yes I have... both here and in FFXI. In fact, it was the later where I met my boyfriend Jing.

I notice Bunnchu you're on Balmung incidentally, Balmung is the most populated NA server as well as the unofficial server for those who like to role-play, RPing being a very good way to 'break the ice' so to speak, in that many RPers do what are called 'walk ups' where you're welcome to go up to them and start talking in character and see where the conversation takes you. RPing can often be that initial contact that is needed just to meet someone and from there you can start talking out of character about other things.

Also if you can't find a FC or linkshell that wants you, you would be more than welcome in the reasonably small FC and linkshell my bf and I run. But it's entirely up to you.

What kind of friends you talking about? I think I created much stronger relationships in XI (ones that transferred to RL) then I have in XIV.
