Well, yes and no. I'm sort of a lone wolf but I talk to people if they approach me. But most of the time that leads to "hollow" friendships. Might be the server, might not, I don't know. But I noticed that while you can make a lot of "friends" on FFXIV just by standing by on Limsa or Idyllshire or a Ward looking cute, it's dificult to move that somewhere else other than just a pixel-camaraderie unless both you and the other person wants that to happen.

But you can get to know nice people when you join a nice FC that matches your way of playing the game and interacting with people. Just be yourself and the ones that like you for the person you are will find you and stay. You don't need the other ones. There's no way to know if a friendship will last unless it happens, and trust me those things end up happening out of the blue while you're off-guard doing your stuff.
