One thing you could do is add a glow effect onto the armor.

For instance you can have an armor that is more lightweight and less tin-can in design, but thematically it gets its defense because it projects this cool looking runic barrier around the various parts of the character when in combat to blunt the swing of the enemy.

This would involve doubling the drawing to include a out/in combat state but it would raise it up on a "want to glamour that" list. Some people just like to see things glow in cool ways. Its why many weapon glamours involve weapons that glow, and why those glamours are expensive in the first place.

I think my Idea at least should be an interesting turn on tank armor if not the best execution here's hoping SE gets the general idea and runs with it despite my abysmal drawing skills...

Please don't copy this, but seriously, this is beautiful armor that still maintains it's function as defensive gear. I'm not sure how to make a masculine version, but I LOVE this.

Eh, I'm kinda sad that even with these suggestions as big, bulky tank armor still doesn't seem favorable. "Tin can" armor like the wolfram cuirass and heavy allagan armor is my preferred sort of armor anyways and I really wish we'd get stuff that was available all class in that sorta vein for glamour purposes. The game already has a million "Here's some cloth or "metal" armor that hugs your character's model with some bulky pauldrons and random metal bits on it"but I guess I should already expect the top 5 to be the same sorta stuff or worse :\

Personally, I am leaning toward a true tanky armor and not some chainmail bikini-ish armor. Anyways, good luck to all the contest participants! I can't wait to see what we all come up with! Please let Square Enix show them all!

I had a mind to enter, perhaps i still will. However i have no talent for art and my time schedule leaves me very busy for the next few weeks, even so it can't hurt to also throw in some weapon designs with the armor for all Tanks to complement the set. What follows are just a few ideas i have as to what i would like to see in game.

I have always loved the knightly look when it comes to armor, and the idea of cloth/ robe over plate is a favorite of mine.


As is the armored coat.


For the sake of diversity i would like to see more savage looking armor sets, even if it means some that would show more skin for both genders.(sans ridiculous pauldrons... )
