The honest answer to that is we do not know. No one here knows what the agreements are between SE and the companies that allow the came to be accessed in China and Korea.

However, both the Panda Bear (Chinese exclusive minion) and the Magpie (Korean exclusive minion), were reskins of already existing assets that SE owned from FFXIV. Nana bear and blue bird. In fact, all of the exclusive items have been made in house by the FFXIV Development team, meaning the assets are already owned by SE. What we don't know is if there are contractual obligations keeping them from distributing them in other regions.

Show us where the NA players received a unique model flying mount? It's special treatment for one region and it's not right. Give the NA region a unique promo mount that not other regions can get and then I can see the fairness in your statement. Otherwise, you are protecting regional favoritism and it's sad.

Like native Chinese players could never be playing in another region... There is literally zero reasons why in-house designed items are not making it to all regions of the game. It's as simple as making a variant if there is some contract in the way. There is no reason my lala can't have a cloud mount, just lazy excuses and poor arguments.

Pretty sure it is, but there used to be a lot more restrictions on it. Pretty sure their relationship now is like two of my great aunts that were perpetually sore at each other.

Blizzard actually din't have any legal problems releasing pandaren if that's what you were referring to. That concept got brought up in one of the old Warcraft games well before the "Kung Fu Panda" movies.

As for the panda minion in THIS game, there probably wasn't any major "god help us" levels of overhauling since the design and coding for it was already in place. Maybe a couple of consensus checks or votes from the development team, applying whatever the original coding was for it from the Chinese region into the Western region and voila, pandas for all if the price is right. Worst case scenario might be if there was any disputes between region teams, but we don't know and probably shouldn't know anyway. Since SE ultimately owns all the content of and in the game, there shouldn't really be any legal troubles with the matter, especially when it comes to most of the Chinese region exclusives.

I think having exclusive items for a region is pretty cool it just seems a bit unbalanced in that some regions get nothing. EU and AUS being the the ones having to wait the longest most of the time. I think you can have the exclusive items as normal but then just put them on the MS. Then it's becomes the same for everyone, win - win.

Again no matter how you try to make it sound you come of sounding self entitled. You shouldn't be ashamed or embarrassed cause we all do it. But again instead of asking for no more exclusive region content. Make post asking for more region exclusive content for Europe and NA. It's not that hard.

However, I still disagree. I don't want to campaign for NA and EU exlusive items, I'd rather see every region get a chance to enjoy all items the dev and art team have made. I know this will never be the case for the Chinese version of the game, because of their extreme censorship laws, and while that certainly is a shame I also disagree with the idea that because of their strict government they get some of the most stunning asian inspired outfits and mounts in the game.

I agree id rather all regions were given the same stuff. Well except level up potion they can keep that :P

I understand your frustration, OP. And I understand the difference between wanting something and thinking you are entitled to something. I really hate region exclusives when it comes to anything. Because it's not like I can up and move to Japan or China or Korea to get these items, be it related to FFXIV or even something completely different. Same applies to stuff only accessible in the US. It's ridiculous, and barring government censorship (something else I don't like), why can everyone just have the same things? We all pay for the game.

Like the new Amazon preorder. My friend in the EU just wants the maid outfit. That's it. But she can't get it due to where she lives. And yeah, it's nice they made these available to the US, but why not to the EU as well? It's ridiculous.

The only things I understand remaining exclusive are legacy items. As much as I would love the WoL tattoo, I'd actually be happier with SE implementing tattoos into character creation--something more than just face paint or facial markings. That way I can customize a better tattoo to suit my character, which is what I really want as opposed to a legacy tattoo (as cool as it is).

Everyone talks about housing, and I understand things like FC housing gives you access to airships for venture loot and the Diadem, but I have friends in other FCs with airships that took me and my friends to Diadem with them when they went. So it's not like that was completely inaccessible. Even the venture items are available on the MB, albeit for a high price for some. And if these people whining about the housing issues don't even care about or want a house, then why continue whining about it? Yes, it's an issue. But if you don't even care about it, why butt into a thread about something else to whine about something you don't even care about?

That Korean dress is a beautiful piece of glamour. I'd love to see something similar available to the NA/EU one day. I really enjoy glamouring, and I was super excited when I unlocked the quest for it. It hurts when I play on my low level alts not being able to glamour things. XD

Q: Chinese version items such as the panda minion have become optional items in the Japanese version. Are there any plans to sell other stuff in Japan, such as Chinese dresses?

Yoshida: We do have plans. The data for the items is currently being added on the Japanese side of things, so we'll be able to formally announce it in the near future.
