I disagree. As stated above, they're not entirely new "classes" - they're specializations. What they have planned is fine in my opinion.

Manafont, wake up and smell the year 2011. Not everything has to have a level, you know? Not everything about a FF game has to be about seeing numbers get bigger.
Working from first-principles, it doesnt even make sense to have jobs level up in the traditional sense (i.e., in the same way you level classes). Jobs aren't something to be levelled. They are supposed to facilitate a specialisation/playstyle within the parent class, so to level them on top of levelling classes is just a hassle when it comes down to the practicality of it.
There will still be a progression system for jobs anyway but it wont be grind-based.

Yay quest to get 4-5 skills. Quest wont take long. i will have every job/skill. I will easily beat the new dungeons and garuda. and then what? JOBS are supposed to be for groups. so why shouldn't you have to level them up cause i'm sure they are going to be used way more than classes.
So what would you group up for? Another grind? Why not have the quests difficult enough to where you have to group up? Would that solve your problem?Yay quest to get 4-5 skills. Monotonous? Like grinding Job levels?

If you're worried about the game's lifespan, perhaps you should be arguing for actual content, rather than arguing for grind.
Pretty much this.
But I'll add that leveling up isn't nearly as fast as people seem to exaggerate. I can't understand why people complain about it. If you want to level something up again level up another class. Leveling up a job which has most of the main class's skills already would be redundant.
i can go 1-50 in a few daysPretty much this.

The fact that we have people actually asking for a time-sink grind fest to level up Jobs is absurd.
I'd love to hear developer's talk amongst themselves on that issue.
"Wait, you mean the community wants us to make the game more repetitive and require more grinding? Huh? Time-sinks are what we use as a ploy to engage players for longer periods of time, and they request MORE?"
Relax guys. We'll get Jobs. We'll have to do a few quests to earn some abilities. Most of you will just hit the Confirm button over and over again when talking to NPCs and get no satisfaction from the story that the quests might tell. Some of us will enjoy the story, which will undoubtedly serve to introduce some sort of mentor character for each new Job. Hopefully anyway.
While I agree that grinding is a method in which we learn how to play our class properly and see our characters grow, please don't beg the developers for more. It's seriously stupid. Hey, I have a great idea - we should arbitrarily increase the amount of XP needed to get to 50. Instead of requiring 100 hours, make it 110 (arbitrary example). Ya, totally makes the game more fun. Those extra 10 hours really hit the spot.
