    To be fair, crafters/gatherers get the short end of the stick anyway because the MSQ lore is tied to battle content (dungeons and trials). The funny thing is that doing this would fix everything, as levelling a crafter and doing its class quests takes far less time than going through MSQ (or even levelling a battle class). There would still need to be restrictions for getting the new jobs (say... one level 60 battle job, and completed the praetorium), but I could see this being a solution.

    I do believe it will impact Auction house.

    Nobody will need old stuff, starting players will already be high enough to not even need the stuff.

    Which means of course they will skip crafting since they will end up buying gear from npc's and doing runs while ones who refuse to buy potions wont get parties because doing duty finder stuff.

    Sure once in a while they will but they will not sit there in Que waiting, I dont its like 20-30 minutes long so I ask my cousin to get his gf and friend make a full party I aint waiting that long.

    waiting even 1 hour once was a bit harsh I dont think I can do that anymore.

    If you ask me, if the devs really consider it's an issue and it'd liven up the game, they should be able to skip for free, and they're asked to complete:


    - The beginner's hall (first)

    - One of dungeons 1-3 (sastasha/copperbell/tamtara) or 3 (Lvl 20) fates or 4 levequests (lvl 20) or all 1-6 guilhests

    (time spent should be equalish is my point, might want the nr of fates/levequests to be higher if that's not enough, also added solo options)

    - One of dungeons 4-6 (halatali/totorak/haukke) or 3 (Lvl 30) fates or 4 levequests (lvl 30) or all 7-10 guildhests

    - One of dungeons 7-9 (brayflox/qarn/cutter's cry) or 3 (Lvl 40) fates or 4 levequests (lvl 40) or all 11-15 guildhests

    - One of dungeons 10-12 (stone vigil/dzaemael/aurum vale) or all 10-14 guildhests or all 1-3 trials (bowl of embers/navel/howling eye)

    - Any 5 lvl 50 dungeons or any 12 lvl 50 ARR trials (there's no solo options at end since we want to be sure they've done group content)

    They are now jumped to 60 and everything's unlocked.


    The way it works is that they're not able to go further until they do each step, they can't do dungeons the steps don't ask for.

    I want something for the players that reach 60/reached 60 the normal way though. Maybe some glamor?

    Level jump potion is good. The 2.x Main Story Quests had too much filler fetch quests and just dragged on too much. You turn away new players with mundane game play.

    In regards to players not knowing how to play: lots of players still do not know how to play even at max level. You do not really learn how to play your job until you are max level anyway (i.e. Lv.60 Black Mage and Enochian/Fire IV). The game does a poor job at teaching players how to play the game.

    If you want to know how to really play, you have to rely on fan/community-made guides for each job. You have to build relationships with other players and learn from others.

    The reason for this is that the MSQ needs to be padded out to provide sufficient XP for levelling. This is something that was addressed in 3.1 onwards when dealing with patch content and will be addressed in SB with MSQ structure.

    But the 2.1-2.55 was made for level capped characters at the time. The filler is not for experience points, those were added later. They are just there to take up time and make the msq feel longer.

    Honestly I don't really think modifying the msq going to do much cause those same people trying to attract by doing that are mostly the ones that going to get to the "endgame" play for couple months then quit and move onto something else.

    I went through the main story 3 times, first at release of ARR(2.0), then at Ninja job release and then now at 3.4. The first two were fine, I skipped every single text and cutscene, watched a 30 minute youtube video to understand the story and it saved me hours of something I do not enjoy doing. Now with Heavensward and patch 3.4, even skipping EVERYTHING, it takes a fucking huge amount of time to do it and this will surely make people quit the game since they have to spend so much time doing what they don't want first.

    the only way i would be ok with this is if they have one character already to 60 be the stipulation to being able to boost to 60 or 50 if that is not a rule then no go

    That would completely defeat the purpose of the jump potion as a method of getting new players into the nitty-gritty. All it would be useful for is people making alts for whatever reason.
