But being honest I would feel even more leaning to drop the game if I suddenly had 3 bars full of skills I have no idea how to work with than gettin each of em slowly while I do my duties, even if very poorly. I think there's a difference between being a progressive bad player and brand new bad player with the power to get access to content before it's time for it. It's not only about levels and skills, but also about gear, items, aggro management, positioning, and a lot of other things in and outside the duty.

I'm pretty sure SE wouldn't just give a potion and leave your character out in the streets with 100 gil in the pocket either, and that address another issue. I see a lot of people comparing it to WoW but the difference is that WoW is a game dificult to catch up to, content wise and progression wise. While FFXIV, compared to both WoW and XI already holds your hand from level 1 to 60 so you can catch up to veteran players with minimum effort.

Maybe when we have two more expansions that might come necessary. But right now I don't think that potion is needed. Instead SE should just redo the MSQ system and cut out the whole 'be a delivery boy' thing to make it less "search for rocks in the desert" and more "let's get into action".

Yeah even though I don't really have an issue with the filler, as the game gets bigger and bigger they could easily trim it all down to just small cutscenes and conversations instead of going to x and doing y and then returning to z so you can get the big cutscene a.

It'd be a simple matter for them to up the exp on the primary MSQ stuff to compensate for the filler being gone or trimmed down.
