I don't see a problem with giving alts the ability to skip the MSQ entirely. If you've already done it once, there's no reason you should have to spend a hundred hours doing it again.

Furthermore, I've seen a lot of comments from new players that get frustrated with the post-50 MSQ from 2.x. The problem is that a lot of content gets built up over the course of several patches, and a lot of it is mandatory to do in order for new/returning players to catch up. In the case of 2.x, there's 5 1/2 patches worth of additional content that players have to get through just to get to Heavensward. Frankly, the 2.1-2.3 story isn't very interesting comparatively, and it's filled with pointless courier quests. It's easy to see why new players get frustrated with this.

Something really does need to be done in regards to the 2.x post-50 MSQ. It either needs to be consolidated or players should have the option to skip it and get an abridged version of the story (if they want it).

Well doesn't the potion unlock access to all story dungeons. So they would technically only have to go to Mohr Dhona to unlock ex version.

But it's their money and if you only play ffxiv for endgame raids then you will be burnt out really quick. What is next? Full crafting level potions and beast tribe reputation maxes

This is a story based game. Yes there are some that don't care for the story and just want to play the content.. god forbid. They spend an extra days getting to new content. As for MMO it USED TO TAKE 1+ YEARS to hit level cap it takes under a week now..

I look at WOW. the king off sub based MMOs. They are lossing subs left and right. They have all these short cuts and it isn't helping.

I really hope that this thought has crossed Yoshida and the Dev teams minds, if they allow people to jump ahead to 60 then the HW zones will then be flooded by RMT's and gatherer bots and the market will crash on so many items and since it will allow them to go straight into 4.0 content that won't be safe either.

If they introduced it, it would only be acceptable in one way:
If the requirement was to have already played that far on another character on the same account. Same with classes - only those available you already played to 60 on at least 1 character.

So for those wanting to start over on another character, altholics, those who want to play with friends on seperate servers, and so on, they could basically just copy over their progress instead of having to go through all story and content and leveling again.

For new players? Still a big, big red NO.

The sad thing is... I didn't even get into the power leveling methods you can do if you've got a friend or two willing to help out. ;D But, yeah you're right.

One thing is powerlevel with a friend. Due to A or B you will learn by force. Heck, i have helped friends to level and nothing went wrong with that.

Do not add this PLEASE! Even people who have played the game legit to level 60 still have trouble with content.. I can't even imagine! This is so horrible beyond words they would even consider it.. Its an insult to the whole game and all of us that work to get where we are.. Against it 100%.....
