Please do not implement level jumps before attempting other solutions. Improve older content by condensing the MSQ and removing non-essential quests. Do not lock things like regions and jobs behind MSQ unless it’s extremely important to. Expand on existing features like Hall Of Novice and Mentor system to help players catch up quickly while learning the game.

The reason why I’m so adamant about this is that I feel like it will cross a line in how this game is designed. FFXIV has a polished battle system that can provide a rewarding and fun experience. But I feel it’s completely wasted for a large portion of it’s content. I think a fair amount of us were pleasantly surprised at the challenge of Weeping City, and I also think it’s a great example of how the game as a whole fails to teach it’s playerbase to be effective in challenging content. Too much convenience within progression can and will affect battle content.

I love this game, and don't want to give it up like other MMOs.

I sympathize. On one hand I understand that they need to keep a steady flow of players coming in, as there is always a steady amount checking out. There is also returning players with new accounts, and those who choose to level multiple characters. Their numbers probably show there are more people re-experiencing the game's content than those going through it the first time. On the other hand, I know first hand how experiences can be outright ruined by jerk players, and the gut dropping feeling when a new patch reduces the work you put in for someone else by a very high margin.

However, I also know, and so do they, that there are players who choose to grind things out and pace themselves. They really put effort into learning their jobs and roles, and the game in general. All I can suggest is that if you come across said player, you put forth all your effort to get them in your FC

I'll keep this short, but sweet. I started a new alt some time ago and without no lifeing it I was able to hit 60 + finish msq up to its current point within a week and a half to two weeks. Just get rid of the msq restrictions for content and we're set, this level jump item or whatever is unnecessary. Heck, leave that kinda stuff with ftp games.

While im sure the newbies will not be dropped off at raid tier, in order to sate the raid crowd's egos, the rest of the mortals are going to be very annoyed at putting up with people that paid their way up.

The thing is that Yoshi is concidering this BECAUSE people are complaining there are alot of class quests!!!

People!! Understand that what we veterans went through was already alot, too many patches to keep the story fresh and interesting, why would you want to skip everything that we already went through? Do you even care for the wonderfull story that they gave us in ARR and Heavensward? Do you even care about the hardwork of everyone at SE that created this wonderfull game?

Stop asking for less MSQ and faster leveling and Yoshi won't even think about Potions of leveling or whatever its called!! We dont want to turn this into WoW. Newbies need to come with the mindset that they need to learn the game, not just "Get in and win". Every class needs to be learned, every job, the story needs to be taken in to have effect, so instead of trying to get SE to skip class quests, get people to enjoy the game!

Level jumping items on Mogstation would really be pressing into the territory of pay to win.

    And that is unacceptable.

I think mostly its people fearing an increase of players with less skill though, leveling is already pretty fast. Why do you even need to skip the stages of the game that literally teach you all the small fundamental rules of Eorzea?

I hope they reconsider this. I think this is the one thing from the Chinese mogstation we DON'T want.
Can't they just cut out some of the filler mainstory quests?

Nope. Pay 2 Win. Everyone playing right now will leave. No shit. Don't do it.

A lot of people are citing XI as "the right way to do it", but seriously, the same complaints existed back then. When CoP launched, one of the big arguments was that you had to be mid-level to enjoy the new content. ToAU really didn't offer you anything if you were sub-50s either. And considering what leveling was like in XI, it's probably easier to get to Lv. 50 in XIV than it was to get to Lv. 30 in XI (especially if you were a DPS).
I've never heard these complaints, to be honest. And if they were there, they are nowhere NEAR the level of "why can't I unlock DRK yet" complaints I hear about for this game.

Also, needing level for content isn't really a big deal to most people because it's expected. Many of the new areas could still be accessed, and only level 30 was needed for any of the jobs. Many of them didn't even require fighting anything (Samurai and Ninja were a couple of notable exceptions, but they learned from that -- to the point where even the two new jobs in Adoulin, an expansion designed entirely for level 99s, had no fights involved to unlock and could therefore still be unlocked at 30)

Getting a story bump to about the level 30 area? Sure maybe and thats a big maybe. Full story auto complete? Why bother playing the game at all then?

And level boosting? What point is there in that? As a new player you would have no money and still have to progress through old dungeons to gear up so at best you could only be able to initiate a bunch of level 50-60-70 side quests but not be able to do them till you gear hunt and you would be clueless on how to tackle certain dungeons. So that is a definite no.
