ALternating between BLM and SMN for endgame

Hello guys,

I am in the situation where i main blm but with heavy movements in Midas I would like to have a SMN as well to help with some fights that require more mobility. They can both share gears, however, the BiS focus is abit different for both jobs. Does it matter that much having my smn using my blm spell speed gear?

I play both in raid. The problem with the high spell speed build on SMN is running out of mp (A7S). The extra Ruin 3s are nice though. But I'm talking about >800 ss really. Generally, as much as you can crit/det smn and ss/crit blm for your gear sets. Pretty much all the good gear this tier is crit ss so even if you try you are gonna end up with a lot of ss on both. I've been favouring crit as much as possible though for my shared gear as I play smn more often.

If you have over 750 ss as a smn you are doing it wrong

You want hardly any ss, 750 is the softcap, ss doesn't affect deathflare /fester, etc, and has a miniscule impact on dots (0.000145)

I recently just switched from my blm to smn because I hate being punished for noob tanks that cant position or just bosses that make u run around for 5 mins, (almost all raids).

So yeh, Crit > Det, and thats it, also, most of the 240 lore has det or crit on it, never ss, that's why smn was an easy pick for me, we actually get to wear our 240 lore gear.
