Nope...never played that.
Is it reset Tuesday yet.
I question whether I'm playing a PvE game with PvP mixed in, or I am I playing a PfG.
sao is an anime
Nope, reminded me of The Tower of Druaga :P
The "tower" concept isn't something SAO came up with.
It will be an interesting adventure, if it's like SAO. I won't get my hope up yet, because like what happen to Diadem...
Its just a rougelike.
A Roguelike system like Palace of the dead has been around as long as computer programming has.
It reminded me of the Cave of Trials from the Star Ocean series.
Like Archaell mentioned, this concept isn't particularly new or groundbreaking.
I have certain opinions about SAO that a fan probably doesn't want to hear.
But let's just say whatever Aincrad is I hope deep dungeon isn't like it

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME
Aincrad was originally a 100 floor dungeon with a dynamic world management AI that would adjust mob/boss difficulty and skill sets in accordance to community and player progression. To keep things interesting and players challenged.
The story of SAO was built around the concept of a developer using a full immersion VR technology he created to make a VRMMORPG set in that kind of dungeon as a means to create a full living breathing world... by locking the players in it and simulating death by murdering the player when they died in game.
Which that was the good quality part of SAO in terms of story. The players adapting to becoming the denizens of that virtual world, while at the same time fighting tooth and nail to escape. Paying in the blood of their limited population to make progress against a world AI that just keeps upping the difficulty the farther up they went.
It was after that, when it got to ALO arc that it pretty much became a waifu/harem/incest simulator and kinda went to shit besides visual design. Story wise they brought Aincrad back and upped its difficulty since people no longer were murdered for dying in it.
Supposedly the series got better after the ALO stuff when they incorporated mysterious player deaths, and later after that player minds being copied to create military grade combat AIs.
