Player Feedback on possible “LVl Jumping” Potion” like WoW has.

In a recent interview, Yoshi said the dev’s are considering adding LVL jump potion to players at a price like WoW does. I have no problem with it as long as it’s only up to 50. I’m a casual/midcore player, but I think many of us noticed the quality of players through DF is appalling- especially the DPS. So how did the leveling potion work in WoW? Did it lower the ceiling for players’ skill? Did it divide the community even further from casual/ new/ and elites?

Please let the Devs know your feedback.

only thing I feel that needs to be done is to NOT have ANY jobs gated through story so if new players or any players buy 3.0 or 4.0 they can be the job they want to be as soon as they have the appropriate level requirement. I also feel 2.1-2.5 and 3.1-3.5 should be skippable. I have a summary of what happened in those events. but doing MSQ should be required. People will just power through content even though it may have short term gains, it will have long term loses such as difficulty of content, rewards, player quality and retention.

But that discussion was started by a member of Sargatanas, not Balmung. In order to get feedback (or responses) out to the development team, as we learned from the last live letter, you have to be from Balmung.

    Thanks, Azreal!

No thank you. Cut the unnecessary crap from MSQ boost exp so we can just level through MSQ and some side quest without having to FATEs and/or dungeon grind. No need to get that similar thing from WoW

Also, this is a Final Fantasy game which is heavy on story. We already have people bored of end game, what will happen once they can just level up through a potion? They will be bored real quick and go to the next game.

My personal opinion on this, is that it's a bad idea. If you start a class you have never played before at 50, you are going to end up with 3 bars full of skills you don't understand. I just don't see how this can be a good idea. I didn't even like starting out DRK at 30, I would much rather have started out at lvl 1.

I'm also going to side with not doing this. I would heavily enforce cutting the crap out of the 2.x questlines as that's still a major turn off for new players. What we have in 3.X would be much easier to tolerate (not to mention being better in quality).

Deep dungeon, if you do level as fast as they've made out, is a great way to get a sample of a class at max level without committing a ton of hours grinding through story content.

The very minimum that needs to be done is to streamline the 2.x MSQ.

Yes, the story is important, I agree, but getting new players up to the current story is even more important. This is ultimately a social game and having new players be weeks and weeks of grindy MSQs behind older players disheartens them and makes them feel excluded from the larger part of the playerbase.

After reading the interview more thoroughly, I am not opposed to the idea that some features don't require you to complete the story to unlock them. However, I really do not want it to be possible for players to simply be able to jump to the end game without doing a portion of the story. More specifically, I would like see that every player has to complete ARR which is basically a big tutorial when done correctly anyway.

Balmung has the largest amount of players so it's a statistical probability that more questions being asked would be from people on Balmung. It does not mean that ONLY Balmung gets to ask questions.

And in fact if anything keeping us this idea will force SE to prove that's indeed not the case so the next Live Letter they'll probably end up going out of their way to not pick Balmung players... is that really what you want?

Please just use the already existing (and much bigger) thread:
