Happy about hearing that selling housing is now against the ToS.

Report function works the same. If you see someone selling, just report it and let customer service sort it out.

No matter what is said, regardless of the subject, in live letters or in letters from the producer, you need to take everything worth a grain of salt anyway. There have been so many things talked about that have never seen the light of day and have never been mentioned again that it is hard to take them seriously anymore. So many things they promised before and since arr launched just disappeared into the aether. If they were not able to implement them they should just say so instead of letting things hang.
And what does your post have to do with my argument? I didn't say they won't ever change those things, I said they won't respond to questions that they don't have answers to at present. It's like when the media ask a game developer when X game is coming out and they don't answer; it's not that they're deliberately ignoring the question to be spiteful, they just don't have a clear answer to give yet. The OP is complaining that his questions never get answered as though the devs are showing favouritism to a different segment of the community when the reality is simply that he wants answers that the devs simply don't have to offer. No, Yoshida has explicitly stated when asked several Live Letters ago that he knows that these things are something that will need to be addressed eventually. Its not that they can't or won't do it, its that its not feasible to do when the game is operating on a severely limited platform that is holding it back. He already told us yesterday that inventory and armory chest space expansions will be there in 4.0 and this is more than enough evidence that they are going to drop PS3 support in 4.0.
Yes, we got some answers on some things yesterday. Do you know why we got those specific answers? Because the devs have finalised those specific plans and thus can offer us that information. If you feel like your questions are being ignored you should generally just assume that there isn't an answer to your question yet.
Yup, this is why I don't watch the live letters anymore.I have seen a lot of liveletters, even when I don't subscribe I usually follow them, and I have come to realize they don't cater to people like me in liveletters at all. What I mean is that I don't give a *piiiiip* about hats, minions, housing items, emote poses etc. I care about the gameplay. I want to know about what their plans are for more interesting itemization, ability bloat, horizontal vs vertical progression and so on and so forth.
IMO, itemization is already about as interesting as it needs to be.
I used to get excited for the live letters, but not so much anymore. It appears they have and will continue to only answer questions they plan to divulge information on anyway, giving little regard to the question thread and like system which is truly indicative of what we'd like to hear about. I usually just read about them after the fact, with my expectations hovering somewhere just above rock bottom.
To be fair, Live Letters are on a strict time constraint. A question like "Are you planning on expanding personal housing" doesn't take very long to answer. However, a detailed explanation on itemization, horizontal vs. vertical progression and character customization will take a long time to explain, and even longer to plan it well. Keep in mind, every word of his answer will no doubt be carefully scrutinized by the fans (I'm certainly guilty of that), and it could potentially prevent the live letter from going over any other topics. That's not even including the planned amount of time spent detailing content from the patches and the like. Those kind of huge game design questions, while valuable, can be extremely hazardous for a designer to discuss in public. He probably wants to be careful about explaining the current design philosophy, especially when it has a chance to change drastically in the expansion, and be rendered invalid. Designers like to talk about confirmed changes, since they're far less likely to disappoint player that way.
That said, I would love to see some commentary about that sort of thing outside of the live letter. A developer blog / "insider" system where they can take their time to write out well-reasoned and detailed answers to major questions like that would be great. They would be free of the (normally fairly tight) time restrictions.
PS3 isn't that far behind to say the game can't be updated. This is somewhat akin to FFXI and saying PS2 limitations. If everyone actually selected questions akin to gameplay only instead of mounts, housing, etc. RP icons. BALMUNG.. we might actually see some serious replies
