FFXIV Always load in windowed mode

Since the most recent patch, my client opens in a reduced windowed mode, ie, a small window half the size of my screen. This is despite the fact that I have it set as borderless window. So each time I open the client I have to set it to windowed mode then back to borderless. Not a huge issue but certainly a pain in the arse.

Any tips or help would be most welcome.

Switch to windowed and back to borderless...

Glad I'm not alone - your "workaround" is exactly what I do. Annoying but I'm sure there are greater problems.

Maybe its connected with the directX error when Screensaver activates...
Each time monitor switches off, game will crash!

This is happening to me too. My resolution is 3440x1440. I can switch to either windowed mode or fullscreen, then back to borderless window to resolve it for now though.

Problem has been reported and answered by a GM already, issue could be reproduced and therefore passed on to the dev team

I found a permanent fix for my machine.
Start-Up with Dx11.

From the launcher, hit "Config" and there the last option -Dx9/Dx11- switch it to Dx11 (somehow it switched itself to Dx9).
Now game starts again in borderless.
