we already had an eye in the first fight against him so... uhm... Warrior of Light + Eye VS Nidhogg + Eye. so how did we managed Warrior of Light + Eye VS Nidhogg + (Eye x 2) in the final battle? :OIt's simple math [MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS ABOUT NIDHOGG]:
Warrior of Light VS Nidhogg + Eye: We win (the VS works like a = in this weird math case)
Warrior of Light VS Nidhogg + (Eye x 2): He would have double the power (since he's "half of himself" without one of his eyes)
Warrior of Light + Eye VS Nidhogg + (Eye x 2): This is the tricky part, you have to put one of his eyes to make the math look like the first example:
Resolution:
(Warrior of Light + Eye)/Eye VS Nidhogg + Eye: Eye/Eye = 0, so the Eye we had countered his extra Eye.
In the end:
Warrior of Light VS Nidhogg + Eye: We win.
And THAT is how he lost. My math is totally logical. No contest.

Is 20 dmg for the hit like 30 dmg if a RNG shoots?
I remember...

We have a Warrior of Light who is capable of going toe to toe with god-class entities that was super charged by the eye of one of midgarsormr's children. Not to mention hordes of people who rely on the Warrior of Light and place all of their hopes and dreams on the WoL's shoulders. We also not only managed to get the Blessing of Light back, but got back a supercharged version of the blessing.
Which by the way the eye has sufficient power to 1 shot ascians and power Primals.
It is more of a question why we did not turn into a primal as we beat the shit out of nidhogg, and less of why nidhogg lost.

I think there's an attempt at a joke here that kind of flew over people's heads. That being said, I can understand the confused reactions as it took me a minute.

I had to read it a few times before I got it but LOL.

Well, Nidhogg should've been the most dead mother@#$%er in existence.
Getting a spear to the brain, falling thousands of feet , crashing into the earth, then having your eyes ripped out tends to kill the hell out of things.
The fact that Estinien getting possessed somehow brought back a dragon's whole body, from the freaking thin air itself, is an absurdly lazy plot point.
But yes, let's just complain about the fact that random angry dragon was too angry to fight smart and not die. (even if you're just making a sports joke)

Because Nidhog was just a Shadow and not in his "real" Body.
To create a physical Body out of Willpower to fight us, it cost him a lot of Energy and that energy he will miss in the fight.
In add he had to overpower the "will" of his host, again he lose some energy.
About our past win against him:
He lost both of his eyes what should have been his death.
He just hadnt his original physical power - you can compare it with permanent healing against cell degeneration.
In add Hraesvelgr does not agree with what Nidhogg is doing and you can guess the borrowed Eye from Hraesvelgr resists the hatred from Nidhogg to some degree.
