No, they are not primary classes. They never should have been and should not be treated as such, and in trying to fit crafting into everything is what caused problems from the start. Crafts are secondary things players can pick up, and with SOME time and effort, get to max level. They should NOT be your second full time, 40+ hr/week job. It's ridiculous in its current state.

erm while offline leveling is a valid idea,

why doesnt SE just add more leve's instead of 1, 10, 20, 40 wheres the 30 catagory? why'd it get left out and misex in with the 20's?

but to address the concern of the grind, having JUST logged off the game from my L29 alchemist, the grind is a pain, its slow, boring, serves no REAL reward.

a simple fix to this owuld be to LARGELY increase the xp gain from synths and local leves. double or triple the xp gained and the grind suddenly becomes CONSIDERABLY less painful. that would IMO be the easiest way to fix it. just double or triple the XP gained.

as for crafters being primary, i would have to agree,

it IS the crafters who make the gear you battle peeps are wearing after all. and yes, while battle players gain the mats they would be entirely useless without crafters.

that said i do belive alot of L50 crafters in the game have a stick shoved up thier ass thinking they are gods gift. THAT needs addressing too.

Well, I certainly don't want crafting to stay how it is. If a player can collect mats then tape down a button on a turbo controller to get ahead, then something is wrong. And by that, I don't mean that the solution is to move the recipe book button.

Leves would be (a little) more fun, but then I have to run/choco/tele back to town every time I complete a single leve.

Your opinion of what crafters should be is not fact. They ARE classes just like anything else in this game. Tough if you don't like it.

Offline leveling = Bad bad bad bad bad bad x 1000000000000000000000000000000 idea.

More leves is good. Guaranteed 4 per craft/level category should be good. Match the combat classes.

I agree that currently the craft is quite repetitive and boring.

But so far Yoshida's team didnt made a big focus on it as they said, but improvements are coming I think.

Anyways, I'm afraid that many people wants to turn every single aspect of this game in something more casual, just because they get bored with grinds and they think that this grind is pointless and useless. But don't forget the game should try to target every kind of player, since the more casual ones untill the hardcore.

Just because you don't like something inside the game doesn't mean that others can't enjoy it. Of course, you can make your own suggestions about how to improve something if you think you have to, but the fact that you dont like a single aspect on the game doesn't mean that it was bad designed or wrong.

Besides this, crafting is an option, you don't have to craft if you don't want to as I don't fish because I found it extremely boring, but I can understand that someone enjoys it and thats fine with me.

PD: Benefits for being offline no please.

they should make it where you can do a recipe till your items run out automaticly like (ffxi, wow,etc..) and no item return in this process just xp, if you want to make stuff you should stick to the typical way of crafting.

It's not his/her fault that your post was misunderstood. I'm not sure why they need to 'get a clue.'
I am not familiar with these other crafting systems, Can you abstract what exactly is unique about them and how those aspect could be implemented in FFXIV?

Also I agree, there doesn't need to be anger here, even if that is common place.

I believe that the majority of people do not like crafting how it is, casual and hard core, and the main complaint is the grind. So how can we change the grind. You may not agree with my idea, but what is yours? Yoshi and the team have given us the chance to influence what the new system will be. It's ok to disagree with my idea, in fact that's great, but I also hope that some new ideas can emerge on these forums about the second chance we will get with the crafting system.

Also there are some aspects of the current crafting system that I do enjoy! I am making E-moneys hand over fist but I still don't feel like act of making items is enjoyable and I think most agree with me. How can this be change?
