A summoner should -call- like Rydia is using in FF4. Implenting it via temporary pet (last 10 to 30 sec) on medium to long CD (1min to 5min) would work.

Those temporary pet can be summoned while you already have your primary pet outs. The short CD one become a part of your rotation and the longer CD pets are for burst phase.

This would fit what SE seems to have planned for SUM beeing a DoT class BM are the DD dealing caster. Otherwise high damage AoE with a long casting time and a long CD would have been nice.

One of these 2 mechanics should have been what aetherflow is IMO but it could also implented as a complementary system.
