SE store shipping costs

I wanted to get the fat cat plush available on the SE store because I like it and there's a sale going on at the moment, but I balked at the extreme shipping cost.

Because the shipping cost to EU countries in the EU store on this €30 plush is a whopping €20.

Except in the UK store it is only £5 and change (with the plush itself at around £25 - in other words currency exchange does not account for this).

What gives? Why is shipping to the rest of the EU so much more expensive than the UK?

I would love to know that as well, i wanted to preorder the fat cat a while ago the shipping cost would have been 20€ for germany, thats more than just ridiculous !
I don't even pay that much shipping for bigger plushs etc coming from japan...just saying :x

I also noticed, that the EU store has them around 30 euros, with 20 euros shipping costs as you said, but I asked my bf (who is in France) if he could get it for me, and the plush costs 44 euros....

I believe that the French storestore, for example, is run by a separate company. It's possible that this is the cause.

It probably just goes through the standard mail system for UK orders but for EU orders it'll be a specialist courier company and they'll be more expensive.

It goes through DHL for the mainland, with a 2-3 day shipping time. I don't necessarily mind this except we are not given another option. I would gladly wait a few days more for my item to arrive so that I won't have to pay 2/3 of the item's price in shipping.

Well we live in Eorzea....they manufacture in here, they are placing it "on ale" but get their money back with the shipping fee
