I'm probably a special case because I really do live in the middle of nowhere. XD My community (which is a collection of 3 small towns all 10-30 minutes apart) has a population of 4,000. My grandmother's box might be physically right beside mine, but her zip code is different since she lives in a different "town". It's all quite confusing, we have this problem when ordering lots of things but Amazon was the only one to tack on high shipping so unexpectedly.
Thankfully, I asked my uncle (who lives in the US) about it and he hadn't ordered his grandson's birthday gift yet (his birthday is in August). We agreed to go halfers on it since it applies for the promotion. So I'll be getting my code, no shipping involved, and my cousin's son gets an early birthday present. ^.^ I think it all worked out pretty well.

Several people in this thread already contacted Amazon and confirmed you get the code within 2 business days after preordering.
From my earlier post:
03:47 AM PDT Aphia: Well the problem is that it is a pre-order for a game that will not be released until February of 2017, however the Summer DLC Campaign is only going on until the 27th of this month.
03:48 AM PDT Dev: As I have check this for you and found that you will receive your code by email within 2 business days.

So really just pre-order that copy of Skyrim - Special Edition that you know you're going to buy anyway, and get 6 items for Final Fantasy XIV

Thanks, Squeeny. That's some FFXI era segregation. The promotion was tailored to block the (snap!) "rest of the world".
Basically. It's really no different than when games have pre-order incentives (keychain, cheap figurines, sometimes downloadable minigames like how Fable released the gambling mini games early). Sure you could get the stuff then cancel your pre-order, but most people are pre-ordering because they want the game; they aren't likely going to just drop it.

I'm a little sad that not every video game has the promotion on it...Extra tricky for us Canadians. Go to .com, find something that will ship to us, AND with the promotion. MMMMM.

Turns out it'll be around 6$ USD of shipping fees for me. Glad it worked out well for both of usI'm probably a special case because I really do live in the middle of nowhere.
